I'm fairly certain it was started by someone commenting on the OP's picture that Angel was way OOC, not mentioning ships in any way at all, to which OP replied and made everything about the Bangel/Cangel divide which was so not the original commenter's point at all. And then the OP proceeded to belittle Angel's character development just because of her own shipping preference, which is just not cool ever.

I mean, the first comment was maybe out of line (it was true, but possibly not great tumblr etiquette) but the OP's comments were the ones that sparked the whole thing up really. And then we all jumped in. I get bitchy over the whole End of Days issue and I won't apologise for that because I don't really see what the big deal is. Sure, maybe a lot of it was our fault. I don't really mind admitting that. I just don't really see why this stuff has to be such a big deal. People in fandom disagree over things. Occasionally they get bitchy over it. And I'm reading some of these discussions that have been going on and I'm really confused as to why according to some of these people it's okay to obsess about these shows so much but not to read further into them than "Joss said so it must be true". Uhm, hi, high-school dropout here, failed English, and even *I* know that what Joss says is irrelevant when picking apart the source material. WTF.
