Movies and Books... recent thoughts

Definitely, Maybe
Not the ending I was expecting.  Since this is behind the cut, I will say that I really liked that the mom was not the woman that he was really in love with/meant to be with/etc.  I think it made a nice statement about real life and how it's "not a fairytale" (like Abigail Breslin said in the movie).  Also, all the Bill Clinton stuff was AWESOME.

The Other Boleyn Girl
Whoah, those were some good costumes.  I wanted this to be better on an entertainment level.  ERIC BANA I HEART YOU.  My sister Maura said she was surprised that he took this role because it was so one-dimensional.  And if you know anything about Eric Bana, he only films one movie a year so he can spend the rest of the time with his wife and kids.  But I think he just wanted to portray Henry VIII.  I've watched a bit of The Tudors and have it in my netflix queue, and the Henry VIII role there is much more fleshed out I think.

I should also say that Scarlett Johansson didn't make me want to tear my eyes out in this one, which is an improvement.

Primer
I have to watch this movie again to figure out WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED, but I loved it because it so different.  Maybe the second time around I will understand the technology lingo.  Meh, probably not.

Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz
OMG I can't believe Stormy died.  Okay, I guess I can.  But of all the twists in this book I did NOT see that coming.  I literally gasped out loud when I was reading.
Odd Thomas is the 5th book I've finished this year.  That doesn't sound like a whole lot, but for me it's an accomplishment.
