Figured I'd post some pictures of my tattoos. I have 7 in total and plan on many, many more. Each tattoo is accompanied with an explanation. Enjoy!
This is on my inner left ankle. It's the Japanese symbol for "waterfall". It has double meaning for me. 1. A waterfall is my sacred garden. It's where I go in my mind when I meditate, it's where I feel safe and relaxed/comfortable, 2. A waterfall is one of my favourite methods of getting high. :D
This beauty is on my right forearm (the under side if that makes sense). The snake is a very common theme in my tattoos. They represent my view on life and how I want to lead it. They symbolize strength and rebirth/renewal. Many ancient civializations perceive snakes the same way. This tattoo is mainly dedicated to strength, a reminder not to back down from anything, to stay strong and always fight. I got this one done after almost committed suicide.
This is an armband on my right arm. Two snakes intertwined around my arm. This is a twist of an ancient symbol, the Ouroboros. It represents the cyclical nature of things, eternal return, and other things perceived as cycles that begin anew as soon as they end. Tada, life! Also notice the figure 8 they make? That represents the cycles of life - life, death and rebirth/past, present and future. Everything is linked together as one, with no end and no beginning. Just because I die doesn't mean I stop being apart of life.
Sorry for the blurriness. This one is left upper arm. It's a tribal dragon and only 1 of 2 off a wall. He's my protector/guardian. He watches over me. I chose an Asian dragon because how they are regarded as benevolent, intelligent, a sign of good will as well as powerful. Everything a guardian should be. Note the different number of claws on the front and hind feet? 4 claws represents a Korean dragon, 3 claws a Japanese dragon (I learned this and the story behind it after the tattoo).
Left wrist. I give you the career killer lol. This one keeps me grounded, wrapped around my wrist to tie me more to how I want to live life. I'm always changing (rebirth) and he keeps me strong.
And to show the other 2 on my back as well as the placement of most of my tattoos. I have a snake wrapped around the ankh, they Egyptian symbol of life. I think by know we all know what that means to me. :D And another Ouroboros but in dragon form. That guy was my first tattoo ever and is also off the wall since it is the partner to my guardian dragon.
