Today I got an interesting email regarding a fansite I used to run back in high school. I forgot about the different sites I had back in the day. I completely forgot about them. Oh, memories. I went and glanced at the old site and I remember that it was one of the best fansites for a very minor character, Yue, from Card Captor Sakura-- it probably is still one of the best sites. The gallery is still impressive with 140+ pictures. The last update was about five years ago ... I suppose it's true that all interests fade with time.
I finished the hat. The pattern is from
Knitty.com, which I love.
Just finished after a day of watching Lost-- pre-blocking.
Blocking on a dinner plate to give it its shape.
Propped up so it can dry better.
The finished product.
So, Lyndsey is having another baby. She's just found out about a week ago. As keeping with tradition where babies/little cousins get handmade stuff (so there's some kind of "heirlooms" in the family and they stay warm and not get sick) I'll end up making the baby something. Miranda started the tradition when she had her cancer scare and I made a lovely soft pink cabled scarf for her. Oh the tears the mommas and grandmommas let loose that day. Anyhow! It's far too early to know what the baby will be, and far too early to start anything that "requires" a gender themed color scheme. It'll probably end up being a hat/blanket/maybe a teddy bear ... Who knows? I change my mind every two seconds on anything and everything to begin with. But I can see a California/Southern belle baby girl in
THIS! I'm cruel enough that I would make a child wear something incredibly flauncy and embarrassing. That hat however is kind of Malibu Barbie circa 1950s meets 19th cent. England. We'll see. If it's a boy, well ... I don't think they like Malibu Barbie or Victorian England fashions.
Now I have lots of homework to do and some U2 to listen to.
