Frocking

Jul 23, 2006 21:27

Have just handed over Nick's coat which is looking amazingly good so long as you don't look at the lining! Much faffage with feathers. Spent the journey down from Up North sewing maribou feather trim onto the hem and onto the sleeves of my dress, whilst himself listened to the golf.

Will eat something and then do some more although I've not decided what yet.

ibarhis Have found the tabs but I'd love you to still come over on Tuesday.

Left to do (note for self)

Steve Buttons (elastic to close buttons)
Malk lining & sleeves, buttons on breeches, frogging on doublet. One buttonhole. Button holes on codpiece Collar
Self neckline, veil on crown if time, otherwise safety pin it on!! about 5 inches of fluff on sleeves, button back on sleeves.
Graham buttons on shirt and breeches, tabard, 3 buttonholes.
Pouches for documents

Huzzah I think that means only 6 buttonholes...

EDIT Lining done and top stitching, and correct first time, taking into account tabs, piping and all. Only sewed over one tab by about half an inch, and unpicked it straight away. Removed all the tacking stitches holding in the interfacing - looks very very lovely.
