Erza Scarlet | Fairy Tail

[Erza walked the halls of her newly-created replica Fairy Tail guild hall, hearing her armor-clad footsteps echo off of the empty walls. This was the original guild hall, the one she had spent the more pleasant half of her childhood in, not the new one they had built after Phantom Lord had destroyed it.]

[Every detail was perfect. It was all exactly as she remembered it, from the sign out front to the disarray of tables and chairs on the main floor. And yet...it was missing something, and it didn't take long to figure out what it was: People. An empty Fairy Tail wasn't Fairy Tail at all.]

[She sighs wistfully as she opens the main door again to exit.]

It's just not the same.

[Lucy can feel her heart sink as she watches Erza roam about their empty guild. She knows what the other Fairy means, that even if they could bring the building itself from their world exactly as it had been, it still would be a shadow of itself without the people who fill it with laughter.

Suddenly she has an idea, and a devilish expression to match. A moment later there is the sound of a plate breaking, and Lucy's voice, doing a poor imitation of Natsu, calling out]

Oy, you Nudist Bastard, don't get in my way!

[It was a pretty bad imitation, but it was enough to get Erza to turn her head. When she sees what Lucy had done, she laughs quietly.]

That does make it feel a bit more like home, doesn't it?

[Lucy grins wide at seeing Erza laugh, moving over to sit by her friend]

It does. Fairy Tail shouldn't ever be quiet.

[Her fingers find Erza's] I miss them too.

[armorgal]

[Erza doesn't say anything for a bit, but her fingers interlace with Lucy's...which might not be all that comfortable, given her metal gloves and her powerful grip. After a long moment of silence, she shames her head and says:]

Making this was a mistake. I thought that it would make me feel more comfortable, but it's just the opposite.

[Okay Lucy probably should have thought this plan through better, because hey it's a little hard to write or do magic or, you know, function with one hand crushed into a fine paste, but right now Erza needs a little contact so she will shoulder through her fingers being placed in a vice for the moment with minimal wincing.]

I don't think it was a mistake. Maybe it doesn't feel right now, but if anyone else arrives, then all they'll have to do is see this place, and they'll know their Nakama is waiting for them.

[armorgal]

...I hadn't thought about that. That's a good point.

[She releases Lucy's poor hand and stands up, stretching out.]

Besides...maybe we can fill it with new voices. There's always new friends wherever you look, and I'm sure here will be no different.

[tetrabiblos]

[She smiles up at Erza, partly to hide the fact that she's cradling her throbbing fingers behind her back]

That's right. There are a lot of good people in the Garden, enough to offset all the trouble here at least.

[She smiles.]

That sounds a lot like the description of another place I can think of.
