(no subject)
I think I may go to the bookstore and buy "pledged: the secret life of sororities" for making myself feel better about not pledging, let alone not rushing. When they say, "Laura, you should rush, cuz everyone's doing it," they REALLY MEAN EVERYONE IS DOING IT. i think about 90% (literally, its a statistic) of Sewanee is in a frat or sorority, which is cool if that's your thing, but i feel weird. i'm happy for everyone who got what they wanted (congrats, womack!!!). Plus, now it will be really awesome to go to these frat parties and be able to have tons of people that I know at every one. Some girl cried at this mexican restaurant i went to last night, b/c she didn't think that she would get into the sorority that she wanted to get into. really cried!!! ahhh!!! I guess I just don't know how that would feel like, making a sorority THAT important in my life. But, I guess, it's all about where you were raised and how important that is on your family's values, and the people that you hang out with at sewanee.
we have an ice storm here!!! its freakin cold and there is a police order not to drive anywhere. all these southerners. ahh.. there is a land rover in a ditch right outside my dorm. haha. i wanted to go to the basketball game last night really badly, but we couldn't get there b/c all of the shuttles had run off the road. ouch. all of the plans to go to the student union fell through too; it sounded like so much sober fun...make your own music video, free pancakes, a band in the pub, mechanical bull rides, and airbrush tattoos. it would have been way happening, man. oh well. i got to watch romeo and juliet with my friend tess, and that's all that matters.
happy birthday to danielllll!!!! He got into Carolina yesterday and I'm so thrilled for him. And I'm way jealous of him and Aubrey for being able to go to Straylight Run/Something Corporate. Daniel said that Straylight Run was one of the best shows that he has ever been to, and he's been to alot. So I hope everyoen is doing well, and I need to go bathe.
