ACTION: 1648 ALBRIGHT LANE

[When Rachel awakes from her dream, she doesn't know whether she wants to laugh at her own stupidity or get Nago to slap her in the face. To think she actually believed in such a thing... really, she was losing her touch. Now, she could only wait to see what sort of consequence would await her for making her choice. ( Read more... )

[Valvatorez was doing his daily runs. Trying to get his mind off the fact that Marceline felt the world would be better off without her. What about her promise to protect her friends? What about those fakes that were there, claiming to be the real thing. Surely there was something sinister going about, and Valvatorez was looking for the boss character to revert it! Time to get to the bottom of this!]

Excuse me, miss. Have you seen any unusual characters with a dark, foreboding aura around them lately?

A... dark, foreboding aura you say. [This guy must be crazy WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT???]

Exactly! There is something sinister behind the disappearance of those in this town, and I will get to the bottom of it!

You really believe that those the broadcast announced as vanished are truly gone?

That is pure blatherskite! They are kept somewhere in this town, only to be released upon defeating the one responsible!

Considering you're one of those impostors, I am you know something! Do not try and lie otherwise! You cannot fool the eyes of a demon!

I doubt that whoever is responsible for this would use such a cliche method of holding hostages. [But Rachel this whole town is one giant cliche on 1950s America...]

And you cannot fool the eyes of one who has seen far too many buffoons. [THIS TOWN IS FULL OF IDIOTS though she knows she can't really blame him for this.] I am not an impostor, despite whatever feelings might lead you to believe.

Holding hostages? It could very well be a boss character with a weapon that is powered by those who have sacrificed themselves!

An appropriate, dramatic conclusion!

Yes, but me believing that the you in front of me now is the real you is exactly what the you that is currently in front of me would want me to think!
But it is the exact opposite of the truth! Even though I do not think our paths have crossed, it is quite obvious that the you that is before me is not the real you! I can tell when I am talking with a real person and not a bootleg imitation!

Unfortunately, the real world does not work as simply as a video game with easily-identified "bosses" and such.

Or horribly tacky and over-the-top.

Ah--how dare you! As if my charm and elegance could be copied by a mere bootleg! I assure you, whoever you are, that I am the real me no matter what you may believe.

How dare you copy someone with grace and elegance! If the you that is not here has any, that is! I'm sure she does. You seem to carry yourself well enough as a bootleg.

Allow me to introduce myself then! I am Valvatorez, vampire demon and Prinny Instructor!

As I said, no bootleg could even hope to carry them-self half as well as I do.

[... wow there are a lot of vampires here. Not like she keeps the fact that she's one a secret though she just doesn't usually feel the need to tell anyone BUT NOW SHE'S BEEN ANGERED.] And I am Rachel Alucard, head of the vampire Alucard family.

If the bootleg is of this quality then I can imagine the real thing must be even more dignified!

So you're a vampire too? How am I to be so sure that it is not more malarkey from this town? Next you're going to tell me you also have a werewolf for a steward! Clearly that is a rare combo and I do not know of any other vampires that have that!

[Funny thing, that.]

As I said, I am no bootleg! [She really wouldn't be so adamant about this if not for the word choice. Bootleg just sounds... SHODDY.]

... while I am not quite sure if steward is the correct word for him, I do have a servant who is a werewolf. [God this is bizarre.] Are you sure are not merely trying to copy me?

Well. I certainly was not actually expecting that response...

((3/3))... Why would I need to copy an imitation? Next, you're going to tell me you prefer other sustenance over human blood! If anything, you are the one that is the copier because you are nothing more than a copy of the original! Not that I've talked to the original you ever.

That aside, werewolves do make loyal comrades, don't they? I'd personally call them a vampire's best friend, but I have the feeling that would be completely misinterpreted.

queenofscarlet December 24 2011, 07:59:15 UTC
Of course I would. Drinking human blood is nothing but a barbaric practice only a savage would partake in. [Okay no really these similarities are just getting weird now AT LEAST SHE'S CLASSY but this is still what.] Even if I was such a copy, are you daring to imply that my "original" self is imitating you?

I couldn't really speak for the entire race itself, but Valkenhayn is the most loyal servant to have ever been. None could simply compare.
