... All the urging it took to make Iono settle down was to remind her that Arge was without her mother. Iono knew how much that could affect a person ... she felt rather guilty and insensitive for having not considered it until now, leading to her treating Arge rather gently that evening, with praise filled doting.

She had made sure to ask the lovely birds to bring sweets and food and sparkling apple juice and wine to their little scouted house for the night in the necessities, and she came in from the veranda just now. "Kaaaaasss~ Can you open the wine bottle~?"

Of course, Arge was stoic as ever, so it was hard to tell how much she was affected by her mother's absence.

The young bodyguard was following silently behind Iono, though most people who didn't know about Argent would probably not notice her presence.

"Yes, of course, leave it to me," Kass replied, a wine opener already at the ready. She smiled a bit at both of them, before turning to Arge as she fiddled with the wine bottle a bit.

"It's only once a year, so I suppose it can't hurt to let you stay up late tonight."

"We should set an alarm clock and enjoy the first sunrise of the new year~!!"

Iono was always thinking ahead~ But only about frivolous things. Still, it sounded nice, didn't it?

"Ar shouldn't stay up too late," the young bodyguard said.

"Tonight is just a special exception; I'm sure your mother wouldn't mind," Kass said, adjusting her glasses.

"But that is a good idea, Iono-sama. Will you be able to wake up that early though?" she wondered, as she finally managed to pope the cork off the wine bottle. She quickly poured two glasses, before getting the apple juice ready for Ar.

"It's new years! It's tradition~~!" Iono cheered~

... and then looked down at Arge with that certain glint in her eyes. Horny queen. "Do you know what else is tradition, Argent? <3"

She saw that glint.

"Is it illegal?"

Kass was clearly worried, but she wasn't quite sure what Iono was getting at. So for the time being, she remained and silent and just watched. Like a hawk.

"Ohh you twoooo, it's just the midnight kiss~" She took the open wine glass and began to pour for herself and Kass. "Have some liquor, Kass. LOOSEN. UP. <3"

A kiss is fine, so Arge just nodded.

"Yes, of course, I knew that," Kass agreed, as she sipped at her glass. Even Iono wouldn't try anything with Arge...

Though in a few years she'd have to be a bit more careful.

"I am quite loosened up, thank you," Kass replied, a bit indignant. "I think it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to tighten up a bit in exchange."

Kass had Iono's intentions for Arge pretty much right on the money.

"Tighten up on whom, hmm?" Iono teased, setting her wine glass down and giving Arge a big, snug hug~

But Arge was a strong girl, she could hold off Iono until she was legal and ready.

"This kind of topic shouldn't be discussed around minors," Arge chided, though she didn't resist the hug.

Kass sincerely hoped that was true. While Arge could no doubt hold her off in combat, Iono's true power lay in another arena entirely.

"Y-yes, that's right, it shouldn't," Kass agreed, before pausing as she turned a bit red and stared at Arge. Wait, how had she even understood that?
