Open - Onsen

[Akiha was solely there for the onsen. She was very cold and the idea of soaking up the warmth of the water was enough to draw her out of the mansion. At least she and Subaru had talked before, so she wasn't barging in on a stranger. Technically.

Being a Japanese woman (despite her family being terribly Western), she knew the correct practice and whereas she was terribly self-conscious about being as flat as a board, there wasn't anyone in the onsen right then. Her long hair was tied up off her neck and a folded towel was resting on the top of her head as she relaxed. And the water level covered all of her non-existent chest. Perhaps she would get to enjoy some time in the onsen alone.

[She read the pamphlet, and then read it again, and THEN again one more time so she had this right. This was probably one of the more bizarre things she'd come across in awhile, and if she was going to do it at all, better to do it properly, right?

But it was probably strangest of all to her because it would have been the sort of thing Cake would have accompanied her for, or would have read ahead of time and helped her with. This way, she felt a little vulnerable, and was just hoping there weren't going to be girls pointing and laughing at her. It was bad enough that she was NOT flat as a board, and that keeping her bazoobs in check was a pain to begin with.

She was, however, wrapped with a towel as she went in, and she did the unspeakable: removing her hat (GASP) and starting to put it up when she saw there was already a girl bathing, who looked like she could hold her own if she were an enemy.]

"H-hey," she said, slowly lowering herself in, finally taking off the towel, trying not to look
self conscious.

[Of course, Akiha wouldn't get to enjoy the onsen in sweet solitude. At the shaky greeting, she opened on ice blue eye to look at the girl briefly before closing them again.]

Hello. I shall assume you've never been to a traditional onsen given the tremor in your voice.

"Naw, there's not really something like this back where I live. No one just goes nude in a secluded place, just because you never know what will happen."

And now that she thought about it, was there even a place in Ooo you could just relax? Maybe Candy Kingdom, when it wasn't being attacked.

"But its normal for you. Am I doin' this ok?"

Somewhat normal. [She then looked over at the girl again.]

Tie your hair up. This isn't a pool.

"Oh yeah! I was just startin' to do that. I don't usually do much with my hair. I usually have my awesome hat."

Pool. Yeah, that was true.

"What happens in a place like this?"

[She glances over at the hat and sniffs a bit. What a childish thing.]

You relax and bathe.

[Luckily, Fionna totally missed that. It was HER hat, and it wasn't a thing she was going to ever let anyone make fun of. She finally shrugged off the towel, sinking into the water.]

This is...nice.

[Normally, AKiha would have been vocal about the hat, but she decided for once it was better to not say anything, especially if she wanted to stay in the onsen and not feel compelled to leave.]

That is the point of it.

I know, I just...I sorta goof off when I relax, or go on adventures or some biz like that. I'm not usually doing this kinda stuff. But its nice, to do something like this sometimes. I did get to wear that Y-yook-that robe thing.

[Fionna exhales, and suddenly finds herself breathing slowly.]

Yukata.

[Akiha closes her eyes after the correction.]

[Aaand now Fionna is at a loss for what to do. It was one thing to follow all of those directions, but it was another for her to just sit and stay still and do nothing. Fionna was observant enough to know there SHOULD be quiet, but not quite restrained enough to stop herself from talking.]

So...this is what you guys do to relax here?

[Akiha's eyebrow twitched when Fionna spoke up. It seemed like she was going to be forced into conversation whether she wanted it or not.]

Occasionally. Relaxing isn't an easy thing to do here.

[Oh, she knew well enough that she was going to annoy: just looking at that girl you could see she wanted peace. Fionna also knew, considering where she was and all the questions still brewing in her head, that she wasn't going to be staying quiet anytime soon.]

It isn't? What happens that makes stuff, uh, not relaxing?

Yeahhh. I'm just trying to understand this place. Where I'm from, there's not a lot of humans.
