Amamiya had already suffered the mistletoe's effects, and so was wise to its tricks. That was why, when she saw Katina poking at it, she felt obligate to warn her.

"You may want to step away from that," she said, calling out her warning from a safe distance.

However, without noticing, she had herself stepped under another mistletoe plant.

Don't mind at all!

Katina glanced over at the girl who had warned her. "You've seen what it does? What's up with them?"

"If you stand beneath them with another girl, neither of you can leave until you've kissed," she explained. "It's not dangerous, just inconvenient."

"Eh. Well that's kinda boring." She steps away a little, looking over at Amamiya. "You get stuck with someone?

[gentlecuteside]

"Yes," she said flatly. "It was rather annoying."

Not that she really minded kissing the other girl...but it had been awkward as hell.

"I bet. Mistletoe's no fun if it's physically trapping you." Not that she'd aim to get someone under it anyways.

Katina turned to walk away, then stopped. "How far does it extend?"

"Don't know," Amamiya answered. "I've not tested it. Far enough, I imagine."

"I'll just keep my distance." She glanced over her shoulder. "Lieutenant Katina Tarask. Yourself?"

[gentlecuteside]

"Amamiya Sakurako," she replied. "I'm glad to meet you, but not so glad that I want to kiss you."

"Haha, yeah, I hear you on that. You wanna get to know a girl first, huh?"

[gentlecuteside]

Amamiya nodded. "I do not give out physical affections lightly."

[grandtheftmecha]

"Not everyone does. Especially when it's something like kissing."

[gentlecuteside]

"Yes, exactly. I had...well, I had never so much as kissed anybody, boy or girl, before coming here. I don't appreciate the Queen forcing me into that position."

"That just makes it worse! I'm not too idealistic about first kisses, but they should at least not suck."

Amamiya sighed. "Yes, well, that ship has long since sailed, I'm afraid," she said. "Anyway, come away from that thing, I think you may still be in its range."

She was still completely ignorant of the fact that she was standing right below another one.

Shrugging, Katina walked in Amamiya's direction. "Yeah, right. Too bad we can't just destroy 'em all."
