Rei had also found her clothes -- the casual things she'd been wearing after searching through rubble of the building formerly occupied by the Deathbusters -- and was thankful for the jeans and flats she'd had on. She was even more thankful for the transformation pen which had been sitting on top of her neatly folded clothing and now sat comfortably in the breast pocket of her denim jacket. She pushed her way through some of the underbrush (garden? It was more like a forest!) and paused as she heard a voice. Minako?

She cupped her hands around her mouth and called out in reply. "Minako-chan! It's Rei! I can hear you!" She began floundering onwards, hopefully in the right direction.

She heard the voice and her mood soared; maybe it was something about hearing with her own two ears, in the natural sort of way, instead of through that weird plant device. "Rei-chan! Okay! I'm heading towards your voice!" It meant that Rei definitely wasn't dead, that the weird Sailor Animamate, Lead Crow, had failed, that the pain she'd felt in her chest, the last thing she could remember, was nothing more than extremely palpable relief ( ... )

Well, Rei was always a rather practical sort, even when she's not quite the same Rei that Minako knows. She called out again, thrashing a bit as she shoved past yet another encroaching bush.

"Stay there! I'll come to you! If we keep stumbling around, we'll just get lost in the dark!" Yep. Practical. She sighed and shook her head. Sometimes Minako reminded her of Usagi (in a good way!).

"O-okay!"

Realistically, Minako didn't have a problem with that. It wasn't very leaderly behavior, staying here and letting Rei come to her, but (she was beginning to think Artemis had been talking to her in her sleep and implanted subliminal messages or something) she was also delegating responsibility. That was important, right? And they were a team and all.

"I'm gonna keep talking. Just follow my voice! I'm near a... a big tall tree with flowers, I think they're red but it's hard to tell for sure. Wait!" She paused, hearing a rustle in the undergrowth, not too far away, "Is that you?"
