this log.Summary: It's time for the once-mentor and her former junior to have a talk about some rather uncomfortable things.
Warnings: Massive spoilers for Madoka Magica.
[Mami's done a quite a bit of thinking over the past few days- and after her talk with Homura, there's certainly been plenty to digest. So many painful truths revealed, so many assumptions shattered: the fate of a magical girl is to become the very monsters they hunt. Homura herself has witnessed multiple timelines. Madoka, Sayaka, and Mami herself....they've died over and over. It was all very nearly enough to make Mami snap. Her mind slipped and teetered toward the brink, but somehow managed to hold. No one was in danger of becoming a Witch here, after all; and for that, she owes a debt to the Queen for freezing everyone's Soul Gems so that corruption was impossible.
However, that's not the end of it. It's become apparent, thanks to this awful new information, that the tale Sayaka told her about what she went through before arriving at the Gardens was incomplete. Now, Mami's determined to find out the truth- because after all, she feels somewhat responsible for Sayaka's fate. Mami was the one who made being a magical girl seem like something desirable. Sure, she was ignorant of the real horrors, but in her mind that's by no means a pass for her selfish behavior; she knew how lonely it was to be a Puella Magi, how painful.
It's with this in mind that she stands outside Sayaka's room and raps on the frame of the shogi.]
Ah...Miki-san?
