Keeping the petal close, while using her glowing sword to give additional light, she entered the labyrinth without fear.
After all, this was how it should go.
It was an invitation, wasn't it? They wanted people to go down there, and she was not one to reject such an offer!
Sure, she wondered what kind of obstacles awaited her, what kind of enemies she'd fight, but well...that was she was here for.
And, hey, it was what shrine maidens did! Which was, of course, the main reason. She wasn't bored and looking for fights, or anything. Surely not!
As she moved deeper into the labyrinth, she did not stick to tactics like "always left" and instead alternated between both directions, while remembering where she started. She was looking forward to what she'd find!

She stops suddenly as she sees the young woman carrying not only a flame, but a glowing sword. It's quite a sight.
"Hello." She smiles.

"...Say, who are you?"
She wondered if that was the traditional 'first boss'. But nah, she'd not be that lucky.

"I'm Tenshi Hinanai, also looking for the queen. Or, well, her goons, mostly. Someone ought to be guarding her, after all, and I'd like to see what they're really capable off directly! I guess checking for the queen herself is also on the list."
...Same general goal, though slightly different.

Tenshi's eagerness to fight (if not her manner) reminded Epsilon a little of a friend, although she didn't approve of the idea of fighting. It could be dangerous--if not for the "goons", as Tenshi put it, then for the people exploring the Labyrinth in the dark. "I haven't met anyone like that here. Those people don't seem to show themselves, whoever they are. In any case, please be careful."
Epsilon had no desire to fight anyone. "If the Queen does want to send people home, then I want to make sure she can do that."

Which, well, was getting excitement by battle.
"As for the queen, I guess it's good if she'd finally send people home. I'm just wondering if she can do this after this is over. Her ex-servants might have already taken the capability to do that away. They could do that to Yukari, after all. Yukari should be able to leave normally."

Epsilon nodded, recognizing the name. "I've spoken to Yukari before. About the Queen, actually. She said she'd talked to her. Yukari can usually travel between worlds?"
She considered Tenshi's words about the Queen's possible lack of power. She couldn't deny that that was a distinct possibility. "The Queen might have lost that ability, but she shouldn't be imprisoned here, simply for wanting to send us home. She was trying to undo the wrongs she'd done. Imprisoning her for that, as she imprisoned us--it isn't right."

Technically, gap hag wasn't the proper term, but Tenshi didn't really mind.
"As for the queen, well... 'Like the waves in great rivers, there is no turning back of that which has previously been done....' - it's karma, no?"
Tenshi shrugged. "Won't mind her getting released or anything, but her getting trapped is pretty much to be expected after what she did! You have to at least undo what you did to count as properly repenting. For example, when I destroyed a shrine, I had to rebuild it afterwards. It's only fair."
She paused, noticing how she was coming across. While she didn't mind that in general, right now there wasn't much of a point, so she tried to correct the impression somewhat. "Well, I don't destroy shrines all the time, you know. I only did that once!"
Reply
"Just because someone's done something wrong, that doesn't mean the same should be done to them. It seems she was trying to undo it, but she didn't have the chance. It's much like if someone had stopped you while you were trying to rebuild the shrine, so you weren't able to repent."
She had the distinct feeling that she and Tenshi came from very different worlds. She wasn't certain what kind of shrine Tenshi had destroyed, or what the ramifications might have been. "Though I'm glad you did rebuild it," she said politely.

She tilted her head slightly. "I...think, anyway. I didn't exactly pay attention when the other sages were talking their philosophy stuff. I prefer outdoors, anyway."
"And, to be accurate, someone DID try to stop me. And kill me. That was Yukari! Destroyed the shrine again, though, which was a pain. But I made an effort, that's what counts."
Tenshi didn't really seem to hate Yukari particularly, though. Weird world she came from, weird indeed.
"...uhm, I guess that means that, since the Queen also made an effort, hers counts too? Oh!"

Fortunately, the conclusion Tenshi came to was much easier to comprehend.
"You're right." She smiled at Tenshi. "It counts. So it isn't right for her to be kept a prisoner here."

Tenshi tabbed her cheek. "If something can be found down here, anyway...that's the problem with labyrinths, most of it is boring, empty corridor. I wouldn't have made one in their stead."
