[ Stephanie's used to being up during the dead of night, albeit for different reasons altogether, and as has now become routine, she's wandering around the Garden in her Batgirl costume. Despite the fact that everything's been relatively calm since the blizzard, she's still convinced that something will go horribly wrong, and so feels that she has no choice but to patrol from dusk till dawn ]
[ she's also fairly familiar with the smell of blood. Unlike most sensible people, Batgirl heads towards the source of the stench - which happens to not be far from where she is. With a click, she flicks down her night-vision lenses and-and okay, whoever mentioned the lake of blood definitely wasn't kidding. When she spots someone knelt by the edge, despite every instinct running through her, she chooses to back away, because as long as people are drinking from the lake, it meant that they aren't feasting on the living ]
[ backing away works fantastically for Batgirl, until steps on a loose branch, causing it to snap loudly underfootEr. I... I

*Satsuki will spin around quickly. Surprisingly enough, she looks just as scared as Batgirl does. In fact she would look completely harmless if it wasn't for the bit of blood on her face.*

Tell me about it! A couple of weeks before I got here, I had to deal with this flock of Draculas - Draculae? - and all they did was whine and-[ Hold your horses, Steph. Maybe telling the vampire about all the others you've slain might make you seem, I dunno, racist against vampires? ] Anyway. You were drinking from the [ ... ] lake of blood, right? That's cool. Well, not cool. It's actually kinda making me lose my appetite because, no offence, I'm not wired with the stomach for it, but everyone's gotta eat. The fact that you're not going around biting people while they sleep is a big plus in your favour.
Aren't most vampires born human? I mean, I thought they have that whole thing going on that meant they couldn't breed? [ ... ] Wow. That was a shockingly personal question, and I apologise for having no brain-to-mouth filter.
Oh. Well. [ Ten bucks says I manage to make this even more awkward with the next comment out of my mouth. ] I guess the breeding thing is a non-issue in a place like this.
