There's not a solution that doesn't, y'know, involve killing anyone? [Take her word for it, dying is no fun at all.]

So far, it has a one hundred percent success rate with me!

Why, what's your alternative?

I... um...

[...Well played, Noi. Well played.]

...Diplomacy, maybe?

Do we have anything to bargain with her for?

Do we even know what she wants?

...Not yet, no.

Sorry, I'm not really much of a planner. I just ran the diversion squad.

Ohhh. So you're like... Fujita. Or Shou.

I don't think diplomacy would be worth much, anyway. She can make all this and take us all here, I don't think there's anything we could offer that she can't already get...

I guess that's true, but then, if she can do all that, can she even be killed?

Oh, she might be powerful, but anything can be killed.

Depends what kind of place this is. Even if you do kill her, she could always come back later none the worse for wear. Trust me, I've seen it happen more times than I can count.

Obviously! I've seen revival magic up close and personal about... mmm, three times, now? Not counting the bugs.

But hey, Death is here, of course the Queen can die!

Revival... magic? That's kind of a new one on me, but okay.

Well, how do people come back from the dead where you're from? Clones don't count!

That's just how the afterlife works, basically. You get used to it pretty quick, all things considered.

Oh. That reincarnation business.

I guess they sped it up... and give you back your old body now?

Weird.

Oh, no, that's different. No one's actually sure where you end up when that happens.

Basically, if you die in the afterlife, you wake up fine a few hours later. Or minutes. It varies.

So... we're getting into double death territory here. Death after you're already dead.

Really weird.

All the same - till someone has something better, I'm sticking with beating the shit out of the Queen!
