[ Amaterasu, still wearing the shift she woke up in, is sitting cross-legged in the middle of the Garden. The cat's scrolls are stacked next to her, and she's holding her clothes in her lap, looking over them curiously. It's not every day one wakes up as a human rather than a wolf ( Read more... )

[This shadow-element girl calls to the new woman from a low tree branch she's managed to climb.]

Ah~. You're another new one, right? There's so many now...

[ Amaterasu's head jerks over in Lulu's direction, eyes searching for a second before she thinks to look up into the tree. She tilts her head curiously, wondering about this girl who climbs in trees and her comments about "so many" new people. That's pretty interesting, actually. According to the scroll, they were being gathered for a purpose - perhaps there's some urgency behind their mission if they truly are arriving so quickly.

In which case...Amaterasu shuffles through the scrolls quickly, until she gets to the one she had originally found. She unrolls it and points to the message, then spreads her arms out, indicating the whole area. Just why are they here? This message was frustratingly vague - that much is clear from her expression. ]

[She tilts her head curiously, trying to figure out what Amaterasu wants from her motions.]

Are you asking why we're here? That's what everyone Lulu has talked to asked first!

[ She lets the scroll roll back up and replaces it on the pile as she nods. She assumes the girl's name is Lulu - and it doesn't surprise her at all that the question is at the front of everyone's minds. Though the implication in her answer is worrying - that everyone here has been spirited away from somewhere else, and that no one is native to this place.

That, however, can wait. Amaterasu drops her elbows onto her knees and leans forward, waiting to hear what Lulu might know. ]

[Lulu lets her eyes lock onto the woman before her. She can tell this one is somewhat powerful. If letting her have a bit of information could earn her an escape or a favor, it would be well worth it.]

Lulu doesn't know much, but she'll tell you. That Queen of Hearts woman-- she's been bringing lots of girls, and only girls, here. And she's veeery powerful. Lots of the people here aren't human at all, and she still managed to get us here!

[ Amaterasu can't quite help herself - she laughs after that last line about bringing in non-humans. If only Lulu knew the how true that was!

She sobers once the laughter fades. It is true, after all. This woman not only had the power to bring her here, but also to change her form. And, perhaps, to limit some of her power, though it's hard to tell if that was this "Queen of Hearts" doing.

But that doesn't matter! Leap before you think! Amaterasu jumps up to her feet and grins confidently at Lulu. She defeated Orochi before she had all of her power back, so why wouldn't she be able to get herself out of this mess? It doesn't matter how powerful the opponent may be - as Issun would say, she could out-stubborn all of them. ]

What, do you want to find her? [She waves a hand dismissively.]

That's not going to happen! Lulu's already tried, but the Queen doesn't show up herself! She and those other women who work for her just talk to us on that vine thing. It's really annoying!

[Her dismissive wave turns into motioning at said vine.]

[ Amaterasu pivots to look at the Vine. Oh. So that's what the scroll had meant. Amaterasu had assumed it had meant her own power of the same name but hadn't been able to find any Konohana Blossoms about and-

Well. That made more sense.

Still, she turns back to Lulu with stubborn determination. Since when have things like "rules" and "barriers" stopped her? If getting to this Queen will get her answers and everyone a way out, then they'll just have to do it. It's as simple as that. Amaterasu throws her hand out, and a slight ripple goes through the ground as a tree abruptly grows next to the one Lulu is sitting in.

She looks calmly at her handiwork and then at Lulu. She'll get to the Queen. Even if it takes a miracle. ]

[Whoa. That was unexpected, to say the least. Lulu was right about this one being powerful, not to mention stubborn.]

Kyaa! Hey, watch what you're doing! Lulu might have fallen down, you know?

[Almost as though to undermine her own point, Lulu swings down from the tree with minimal effort.]

Who do you think you are, anyway? You must be someone strong if you think you can get rid of her by yourself.

[ Amaterasu shrugs, completely guilt-free. Lulu might have fallen, but she didn't. No reason to worry or complain. Especially not after that show of agility.

She smiles without thinking, hearing Issun's voice clearly in her mind. "Don't you know who you're talking to? This is the great god Amaterasu!" It was a long way from Furball and Ammy.

So when she finally speaks, it's with an easy confidence to her tone that's unmistakable. ] Amaterasu.

Amaterasu? [It seems familiar, like a word she'd heard long ago but can't seem to pinpoint exactly where. The name rolled off her tongue, warm and kind-sounding.

She shakes her head a bit to regain her focus.]

My name is Lulu. Nice to meet you!

[ Amaterasu watches Lulu carefully as she processes the name, nodding to herself when Lulu continues on without any apparent recognition. So not all people here knew her - or perhaps it was simply that some lacked faith, even with her earlier impulsive display.

She bows shortly when Lulu introduces herself, not much more than an inclination of her head. It's her way of returning the greeting.

Though speaking of faith, Amaterasu gestures to Lulu and then continues to motion to the new tree still standing there, as solid as the other. Do you believe her now that she can do something about the Queen?

Though as she glances at Lulu, it's more of a question than a challenge: she isn't saying she has to do it alone. ]
