[The girl in the mirror seems entirely different from the last time she used the vine.  Instead of a mixture of anger and tears, Taiga is beaming with joy.  Her smile is wide, eyes sparkling as she twirls in the snow.]

Hey, hey!  It's Christmas Eve, everyone!  I know it's late, but you better have been good for Santa this year.  If you're naughty he ( Read more... )

[Kill with kindness. Taiga has to make up for a lot of things this year!]

Cheer up! Santa doesn't like scrouges.

You still believe in Santa?

tsuntiger December 25 2011, 01:44:54 UTC
Yup! I saw him once.

And you actually believed that was a mythical man that delivers toys to children all across the world in one night and not just your father or some other man dressed up pretending to be Santa?

Ooooh, so you're one of those people!

Santa makes everyone happy, so of course I believe in him!

People who don't like Christmas.

Liking or not liking Christmas has nothing to do with whether I believe in something as preposterous as Santa Claus. It's a figure of Western myth conjured up to create incentive for children to be good during the typically stressful times around the holidays.

Believing in Santa at our age is pathetic.

[Sigh]

Is it so bad? Back home... Christmas was always so cheerful. The lights sparkle and families stop fighting for at least a few days... Children have something to look forward to, and everyone's smiling. Have you ever gone shopping during Christmas time? It's beautiful!

So, I don't see why I shouldn't believe in Santa.

No. I've never gone shopping like that.

[She sniffs and crosses her arms.] There's nothing wrong with believing in the symbolism of Santa; it's when you believe in an non-existent man that's the issue here.

You should.

But Santa does exist. [Ready for this pathetic shoujo crap? Taiga clasps her hands over her heart.] In here. And in the hearts of all the children who're still young.

...

[Akiha wasn't sure she'd ever actually see something THIS pathetic in her entire life.]

Fine. I recognize your status as a child then. Enjoy waiting for Santa in a place where men are banned.

I'm 17 and if you're going to be such a grouch about it, fine! Maybe Mrs. Claus will show up instead.

Your age means nothing to me; you've still aligned yourself as a child.

I'll be ready to say I told you so when I act more adult than you.

[Because that's totally not a childish thing to say...]
