[ With her empire fallen and opportunities for escape nonexistent, one thing greater than all else plagues Her Tyranny's mind:

She is so BOR----ED!!Even spending her time familiarizing herself with the prison that is the gardens, including learning to make use of the magical material from the wilds, she is left bored. The weak little humans and ( Read more... )

[Unlucky is a good way to describe Akiha's luck as of late.

In fact, she's once more in a foul mood stalking across the Gardens from Reno's Bar back toward the Orchard. She's fuming so much (and smelling a bit like whiskey) that she doesn't even notice Condesce, storming past where she is examining mistletoe.]

[ One can only imagine how much whiskey and fuming it takes to not notice the alien with the huge horns and even longer hair.

But she is very upset!! Totally ignoring and brushing her off, uh...whatever your name is? She does not remember. ]

...How rude!

[The voice makes Akiha whirl about, ready to verbally unload her anger on the bitch that just called her rude when she sees who it is. Immediately she reins in her temper and bows her head.]

My apologies, Your Imperial Majesty. I did not expect to see you on land.

I hope you did not make the assumption that I was waterstuck rather than amphibious. After all, you know what they say about assumptions:

They make an ass out of you and then you die.

HEE HEE HEE! It's a joke--laugh! You look as though you need it.

[That was a terrible joke. Does Condesce actually think it's funny? The thought that the empress did was far more amusing than anything else, so Akiha did crack a bit of a smirk and chuckle.]

You will find many making assumptions here. I've been told death doesn't, ah, stick here.

Though if I find the Queen anytime soon, I will test this theory for her placing the damn mistletoe around. Do you have mistletoe where you are from?

...What sort of ridiculously stupid name is missile-toe? If such a thing exists on any of the planets I have under my rule, I most certainly renamed it to something less STUPID eons ago.

I hope you've eradicated it from your territory. It's parasitic and these particular ones trap two people who are underneath them until they kiss.

[Which would be why Akiha's gaze flickers back up to the closest mistletoe and she takes a half-step back.]

Oooh? For someone who seems so bright, I do hear a lot of stupid things from you!

[ She takes a step towards Akiha. ]

You expect me to believe something as ridiculous as that?

It's not by choice that I end up being the messenger of the idiocy of this place.

[Akiha barely manages to not snap that at Condesce, but it's clear she didn't like being called stupid.]

And I'm not entirely sure I'm willing to put myself through this mistletoe thing again just to prove you that I'm not making it up.

It's Alternian custom to shoot the messenger! Hee hee hee!

[ There are no fucks given. The Condesce is totally out of them. Sorry, Akiha. ]

If you are going to make crazy claims, you need PROOF to back it up, riiight? That's all I am requesting!

Then drag someone else under a mistletoe with you.

No. I will not subject myself to this humiliation again.

Humiliation? Hee hee hee! You said 'honor' wrong. Come now, what harm could there be in it, even assuming your claim is correct? You would like to prove me wrong in doubting you, wouldn't you?

There is no honor to be had from a forced kiss, Your Imperial Majesty. And none to be given. My pride doesn't require me sacrificing it to satisfy it. I don't have to prove you wrong; you will learn I am right on your own.

How boring. Not to mention rude! It is quite rude to coerce me into accidentally submitting myself to some lowlife to figure this out, rather than a respectful individual I am already familiar with.
