[Here's a face on the vine you haven't seen in a while, although you may or may not have noticed its absence. And, for what it's worth, Canada doesn't look a bit different, right down to the slightly curly pigtails. She's looking more than a little confused, though.]Erm... under the assumption that there are still women here, I'm wondering if ( Read more... )

Ah Canada, you are back, was wondering if you went somewhere!

[She'll look rather concerned at Canada's exclamation.]

Somet'ing has happened in the gardens... there are monsters everywhere.

I was... wait, are you all still here? [She looks a bit panicked by that.] How long was I gone? I mean, how long did it seem like to you?

It was maybe week or two, not very long. I asked around but no one said they had seen you.

How long did you think you were gone?

Umm... Multiple decades. Not a really long time, but longer than a few weeks.

Cannot complain, but the monsters are worrying me. I hope it does not heff to do with hallows eve that England was talking about.

Do you need help, those monsters I do not think are very friendly...

This doesn't seem like a Halloween thing, but I suppose it's possible.

Have any of these new monsters attacked you?

No, but I t'ink is only matter of time before they stop destroying the land and go for things on the land.

Is... worrying I think.

[Uncharacteristic though it may be, Canada feels a short flare of anger at Ukraine, not the one she visited mere months ago, but this one she hasn't seen for so many of her years. She feels guilty for it, but it's still there, anyway.]

Why does everyone always assume that destruction of property needs to lead to violence against other living things?

[The outburst startles Ukraine and wide eyes immediately flood with tears.]

I-I don't know, I em sorry... I just don't want anyone hurt and the gardens aren't always friendly, Canada.

[It takes a moment before large tears roll down her face and she wipes them in her sleeves.]

[A moment too late, the guilt at snapping becomes overwhelming and Canada's shoulders slumps a little.]

I'm sorry. I just... I see no reason to treat them as savages right off the bat. Surely you can understand where I'm coming from. Think of what your own Canada would say.

[Ukraine will nod sadly, still trying to stop crying.]

I know is... is hard after I heard that somet'ing happened to Iceland and cannot be scared. I em sorry.

Something happened to Iceland? That's the sort of thing that changes everything, if she was attacked out of nowhere.

Yes, I heard that she was grabbed or something like that. I think someone was around to help her but what I saw on the vine was frightening.

I do not know if she had done something before though...

[Canada can't help suspecting Iceland of putting up a fuss to get that mess started, but she doesn't say as much, just gives a curt nod.]

Thanks, Katyushka.
