How many of you are agents of death? I don't mean those who have taken a mere few lives, but those who are responsible for death on a grand scale, who have wiped out hundreds or thousands of people. Entire populations, perhaps. Worlds

[Well, this is a terribly upsetting question. But Vanille's learned to take responsibility for what she's done, and she won't run from it now.]

[Kuja's quite intrigued by these responses. She tries to take note of these voices, so she can remember them later, if possible.]

How is it that you propose to make things right after something like that? What can be done to make amends?

[This is a question that interests her as well.]

[There is a long pause, then a deep, indrawn breath before Vanille speaks, voice full of determination.]

I won't let it happen again, no matter what. We're going to change the world.

Change the world? What a grand goal, and not an easy one to achieve. Many have tried to do so, and failed.

How do you mean to carry it out, and what sort of change do you have in mind?

I'd rather try, and fail. I promised I wouldn't give up.

[There's a long pause, and it's clear that the subject is one she's not entirely comfortable discussing. But she did bring it up, she can't just stop now. That would be like running.]

We're going to destroy the fal'Cie, so they can't hurt anyone anymore. But I... don't know how yet. We were looking for answers, but then I woke up here.

Ah, another victim of those wicked fal'Cie. They should be destroyed for manipulating others so cruelly, making them into disposable slaves.

What is the nature of the destruction you caused? What did you do?

voice;

[recalls]

Right. [Vanille's voice is high and musical by nature, but now it's shot through with something sad, and hard.] And that's what we're going to do.

[She's quiet again for awhile, reliving things she can't forget, won't allow herself to forget.] I tried to run away from my Focus. Because of me, because I was too afraid... so many people died.
