[The feed turns on to reveal a large, sunlit meadow that clearly showcases the work of someone who has been working with the magic dirt; a gazebo stands in the center of the clearing, simple in design and yet possessing an old-fashioned sort of charm. The outline of the Monsigny apartment complex can be seen some distance away, a recognizable shape ( Read more... )

[oh my god why

NO MADOKA DON'T LOOK AT HER SHAME]

...oh, hello Madoka-san!

[smooth, Mami, super smooth.]

Haven't you heard of the magic dirt available for use here? Apparently it can cause strange side effects....

[ gagjkl ahhh she looks so small and cute and--

what happened to mami... ]

Strange side effects..? Will you go back to normal...? T... Though, even if it's strange--

Mami-san looks very cute like that.

Oh, I'm sure I will! It'll just take a little time. I certainly can't settle for being stuck like this forever! [playing it cool, you know how she do]

....Ah? You're too kind, Madoka-san, but I'm really not very cute at all. [passu passu]

No--i... it really is cute, Mami-san. Though, I'll be happy for you when things go back to normal, too...

[She absentmindedly tries to smooth down her ears, bury them in her hair.]

Mm, well......hopefully it'll be soon. [jokingly] Before one of the cats decides it's hungry, you know?

[ O... Oh. Madoka actually looks really concerned at that. ] ... Will Mami-san be okay...? If you want--you can stay at Homura-chan and my apartment until things go back to normal...

Aha, I'm only kidding, Madoka-san. I can handle that sort of thing just fine. [or can she???

....oh, Madoka, why did you have to bring that up. Mami's voice grows firmer, although it's still a squeak.] Thank you for the offer, but I don't want to impose upon the two of you like that. [It's one thing to accept and encourage their relationship, but Mami would rather avoid reminders of how their realized feelings re-enforce her own loneliness and isolation.

Physical ones, anyway.] Ah, but speaking of you and Homura-san, have things been going well?

[ there's a pause from madoka. was something wrong? she scratches her head a bit, about to ask, but she's cut off by mami's question. ]

O... Oh--yes...! It's still a little strange here from time to time, b... but...

What about you, Mami-san?

Mm, I'm quite all right. [the ears pop up again without her realizing it as she presses on.] I'm glad that there haven't been having any major problems. You two must be pretty good at communicating!

Eheh... [ Madoka giggles a bit nervously, her face turning a light shade of pink ] Though... I... I still can't help but think about the Homura-chan that's.... still back in our world.

[ Because... she still needs help. ]

...I see. [Her expression turns contemplative, if a little reluctantly so: Mami has mostly given up thoughts of home. There's nothing for her there.] That's just like you, Madoka-san.

To be worried about others, even when it seems impossible to help them. To never stop caring about them, even after all this time - and after finding the person just for you. Most people would say, "I'm content," and continue to think only of themselves.

[She's quiet for a moment.]

I admire you quite a bit, Madoka-san. Have I ever told you that?

Mami-san...

No one... should be left behind. Everyone deserves to be happy, and safe. [ She stops. Mami... the person that she admired, looked up to her so greatly? Madoka was always felt useless, no matter how much she wanted to help. Still, it should be Madoka saying that to her. After all, it was because of Mami that she is where she was now ]

Mm.... But, it was because of Mami-san that I've been able to get this far.

[She doesn't protest those warm, kind, if still so very naive views. Mami has let go of a lot during her time in the Gardens - so much of her buried anger, her guilt, her self-loathing and her grudges. But cynicism is not a shroud she can so easily discard, and will probably remain with her forever.

Still.....her cheeks turn slightly pink, and her smile is pleased. Hearing that is almost enough to make her momentarily forget that she's currently both tiny and part cat.]

I'm glad I could have been so helpful. [...] I'm very proud of you, Madoka-san.
