[The carefully calm expression on her face is broken up by a faint surprise, and Mami shakes her head.] Oh, it's nothing to apologize over. [....the ears droop slightly, as she feels a little ashamed despite herself.] I suppose I'm taking this too seriously.

That's what I'm hoping, Homura-san. I don't want to be like this any longer than I have to be. [her small shoulders give a shrug that nearly succeeds in seeming careless.] It's embarrassing.

[Homura contemplates this for a short moment.] ...Do you not like cats, Mami-san?

[A slow shake of the head.] No, I like them just fine; that's not the problem. It's more that I look silly and the entire experience is demeaning. Besides, I'm....rather defenseless now, you understand, alone in this state.

[But that last point, that is a more important one.]

I don't think any of the animals would attack you, but... Do you need help getting home? [Or somewhere at least... One cannot expect such a tiny thing to care for herself in a full-size apartment.]

[A pause, and then a soft sigh as Mami forces herself to calm down; the fur on her tail and ears had begun to bristle, and she takes the former in hand to smooth it down. While it's good that she's trying to be a little more honest about her feelings, there was no reason to start getting snippy.]

....and yes, I'd appreciate help getting back to my apartment. I won't trouble you beyond that.

Yes, it is. I'm not far from it - there's a meadow nearby.

[Looking up in thought for a moment, Homura focuses her eyes on her tiny friend once again.]

Okay, I should be able to find it. Don't worry, Mami-san. I'll be there soon!
