My first idea is that you're all grown up now. So you can do whatever you want. Think those bears only keep you out if you're a kid.

Grown up? Just like that? Why did they decide such a thing all of a sudden?

Hey, I dunno. Where I'm from, it ain't like that, but apparently in some places, you're a "minor" til you're a certain age, but once you're there, you're an adult and you can do adult stuff like have sex and fight in wars and drink. [Jessica told her about this minors thing.]

Sex is the best one.

A certain age...it's not really like that where I'm from either, but--

[she just sighs. Reno will always be Reno.]

Those things sort of depend more on your willingness than your age. But that's still strange. My birthday--well, to be honest, it could have passed without me knowing. It's been a long time since I left home. It's in summer, but there aren't exactly any seasons here.

Yeah, I know, you gotta be willing, that's just obvious, Kitty. Why the hell would you have sex if you didn't want to?

Though I don't know why anybody wouldn't want to, personally.

Yeah, could be. We ought to give you a birthday party. Or I can just give you a personal present.

You have a hard time thinking about things from other people's points of view, don't you?

That would be nice of you, but don't feel like you have to.

I can think about things from somebody else's point of view when they've got a good point of view. Otherwise, why should I? No point understanding somebody who needs to get their head examined, right?

It's no problem. I'd like to give you a present.

[Reno logic strikes again! She just gives up.]

When's your birthday, then? So I can return the favor.

[Reno logic never fails!]

I dunno. So I can say it's whenever I want, if I'm in the mood for a party. You can give me a present anytime.

[Claire laughs a bit.]

All right, I'll surprise you.

[tasercopter]

Yeah, I'm gonna give you a surprise, too. [She winks.] I like surprises.

[But in spite of that, she asks:] What're you gonna give me?

[persical]

It's a surprise. [she wags a finger.]

[tasercopter]

C'mon, you can tell me. I promise, I'll make myself forget right after, so it'll still be a surprise.

I'll have to figure out when's the best time to surprise you. So you better watch out. It'll happen when you least expect it.

You can't make yourself forget. Silly. No cheating.
