two: video / action

[ Today, Sebastienne has found herself in a...interesting place. She's just outside the arcade, arms by her side, and a satisfied smile on her face. Yes, she's been playing Drifting Afternoon for the past few days. Why do you ask? Still, despite the smile, she does how something to say ( Read more... )

[she's looking at the area behind this woman curiously; arcade? What exactly did that mean? But she puts that aside for the moment, since the words were what caught her attention in the first place.]

Someone else "leaving"? I'm guessing this happens often...

[she drops her gloved hand from her chin after a moment.] But I can empathize with that a little. Being uncertain of what to do after losing the one you serve, I mean.

It does. [ Sebastienne's answer is flat, because, well, it's the truth. Sometimes ladies are here for an even shorter amount of time before they "leave". ] Disappearing might be a better... descriptor for it, but leaving sounds much more pleasant. [ A simple smile. ]

... [ Is she uncertain though? Well, never mind that. She needs to clear her mind, first. ] Would it be presumptuous of me to assume you, too, serve someone, ma'am?

I did, once. It's a little complicated. Most people might think it's strange, but I miss it. [even if her charge was a whiny, spoiled brat for most of her life.]

[ Huh. So is she like the Princess' maid...? ] You miss it? Why is that? [ Sebastienne is still pretty dense when it comes to humans. ]

[Considering Gal joined the household intending to kill the girl, but had a change of heart, it's a bit more complicated than that.]

I don't get many chances to see my old mistress anymore. We're friends. I just hope she's managing without me.

... You are friends with your mistress? [ Sebastienne and Ciel mostly just hate each other, so this is quite new to her. ]

A little unorthodox, I know. But there weren't any other girls around her age. She was lonely.

Not being around those of the same gender and age as you can be lonely? [ She's more than a bit perplexed. Human emotions are difficult. ]

[she raises her eyebrows a little, but she's too polite to pry.]

I'm assuming you've never had that problem, then.

My Lady was quite independent. [ ... It happens when your parents are murdered. ]

[whereas when you're a clone of the real duke's daughter with no memories, you end up being a little dependent on the person who teaches you how to walk.]

Then at least you know she'll be all right on her own until you can rejoin her, right?

[ Oh, she was never worried about that -- logic would stand to reason that there is very likely a Sebastienne back at the manor serving the girl tea at this very moment. Or she'd hope, Ciel can't even tie a knot for her eyepatch properly. ]

I am quite sure she will be fine, Miss...?

Ah, sorry. I'm still not used to the form of communication yet...the name is Gal Cecil.

It's a pleasure, Miss Cecil. I'm Sebastienne Michaelis. [ Hey, they had a decent enough conversation. She can't complain. Most servants Sebastienne is used to are... strange, in some way. See: the staff back home. ]

[well, if formal is how she does it...]

Miss Michaelis, then. If you don't mind me asking, have you been here long?

A little over a month, if I'm not mistaken...? By perhaps a few weeks. It would depend very much on your definition of "long".
