[With her back turned to the mirror, unaware of the broadcast, all seems calm for Gabrielle as she stands in the Garden-but a brief disturbance says otherwise. Her body seems frozen, tense, as if she's seen a ghost.]
Have you forgotten me?
[It seems Gabrielle is silent-her hands fall to her side. Before her stands the phantom, or rather what she sees, an old friend. Her voice, barely audible, whispers:]
Rebecca... I- [Words seem nearly impossible, her hands shake.]
You can't even speak to me.
You're not-
Alive? Of course not. After all, you were the one who let me die.
That's not true. [Gabrielle gently shakes her head.] You know that's not true.
You didn't even bother to try and save me, you wanted that bullet to hit me, didn't you, Gabrielle?
[Hearing her name is almost too much to bare. While there are no tears, her voice breaks.]
It wasn't my fault- it... happened so quickly, I couldn't do anything to stop it-
-Couldn't? Or wouldn't?
Rebecca, please. [She shakes her head, and finally, the mask removes itself: Gabrielle lets out a broken sob. It's a far cry from anything elegant or beautiful. It's a quiet sob that comes from the bottom of her chest, wracking through her shoulders. Until she buries her head in her hands as her sobs become louder.]
[The phantom, unmoving, keeps it's nerving gaze on her.]
