I used to be able to use magic, too. But I lost it gradually, before even coming to the gardens.

But I think your case is different. If you got it by going into the water, it should probably wear off after a short time, maybe like a couple of days. Tsukasa, for example, switched bodies with her pixie, but apparently is back to normal,now.
