[There's something in the lake! Like, other than the usual somethings that are in the lake! It is human-sized and mostly purple, and moves about in a manner unlike driftwood or weather balloons. Also it occasionally pokes up a head to check out the surroundings. Dare you investigate this assuredly supernatural and cryptozoological phenomenon?]

[She has taken a seat next to the lake and is watching the being out there, not making any sound or moving hastily, only sitting there calmly and watching the other.]

[The being is not the most observant thing ever, and surfaces near this observer once or twice before noticing her presence. At which point she squeaks in surprise and dives... then shyly pokes her head out up to the eyes to get a better look.]

[Claire is here with a basket full of clothes and soap, ready to do some laundry. She blinks, putting the basket down and rubbing her eyes a bit, wondering if she's seeing things.]

[!!! NON-HUMAN SPOTTED! The blob of purple moves closer and surfaces, revealing a lady who is assuredly not human.] Oh, good day! I didn't realize there was anybody around now...

Oh, not at all! That is, I was a bit startled to see someone there- Papi doesn't like when I'm seen like this- but I expect that it's all right, since you're not human, either.

[What the hell is that? Reno frowns, crouching on the lakeshore.

She knows about electrocuting things, so she waits until the whatever-it-is comes closer and sticks its head up again and so becomes a better conductor before electrocuting the water with her Electro-Mag Rod.

But she kept the setting rather low, so it's probably more annoying than anything else.]

[Reno is rewarded with a surprised squeak and, after a moment, her target doing a twitchy Dead Man's Float. (Also a diffusing blob of black beneath her.) She'll probably recover in a moment or two.]

[There is some more twitching, then a squeak as she recovers her movement enough to (sort of) right herself and glare at her assailant.]

[Zenobia looms on the shore, staring at the, um, phenomenon. To herself:] Are those... tentacles?

[She may actually identify the phenomenon before it pops its head up, notices her, and then jets over in an impressive display of aquatic motion.]

Oh, it's Vitalia! I wasn't sure it was you for a minute. It seems there's even more to you than I first noticed. [Glances at her tentacles, before shifting her attention back to her face.]

[Well, it's a lake, so obviously there are things living in it... Still, Yamame can't help but be curious. At one point, when Vitalia pokes her head up, Yamame waves a hand wildly over her head and calls out.]
