[She really does hate this place. She hates being trapped here and she hates all of the magic.

She. Hates. All. The. Magic.

She especially hates the magic that is making it rain directly above her head. Has been making it rain directly above her head ever since she and Dominique had reemerged from their trek off the beaten path in search of magic ( Read more... )

[ If Sasha was, in any way, a person with a sense of humour, she would probably find the scene somewhat funny because of how silly it resembles a cartoon. But she isn't and instead she is just staring at that weird rainy cloud hovering directly on top of Jackie's head. It's... probably the weirdest thing she has seen and she has seen a lot of weird things. But most of those had been gory and gross. This one is just... Just odd.

And the only reason why she's there is because she was kind of hoping that Jackie would eventually appear outside Caprica's house so she could ask for some more coffee (the empty old mug between her hands could have said so). The fact that she appears makes her a little hopeful.

Sasha looks at her, a sort of quick stare, but quickly glances away, never one to look in a person's eyes. That's too much of an effort for the little coward. ]

Hum. [ What... does a person say in this situation. She's just going to stare at the vine for a while. ] Y-Yeah. They're, hum. Annoying.

[Jackie has her moments when eye contact is too much effort as well... Generally when she's miserable, which she most certainly is right now and she remains curled into herself.

She recognizes the voice anyway. Sasha may go to great lengths to hide her lisp, but Jackie is always watching for flaws and imperfections. She likes to use them against herself, and keeps a catalog of them in others. She doesn't mind the soft edges to the other woman's words anyway.]

Apparently it enjoys schadenfreude as much as it enjoys voyeurism.

[She mutters this acerbically, but at least it's obvious that her venom is directed at the little plant.]

[ Staring at the plant, Sasha wonders what would happen if she was to actually cut it. It's not that she is a morbid person, she's just used to have these thoughts given her background. She wouldn't do it though. She's not a person that takes risks and she's not willing to do so, not with eventual repercussions from this crazy place (somehow she doesn't think it would be worse than back home, but still). She's not doing much to help either, just kind of staring at the vine, but after a short while, she walks over it and kicks it so it gets off Jackie. If there's one thing Sasha understands is the need for privacy. ]

I don't-- hum. [ She glances at Jackie, then back at the writhing vine. ] L-like them. [ As if saying sorry, really. ]

[ She looks back to Jackie's cloud and frowns. Is that supposed to happen to everyone? She doesn't really understand how the Gardens work, that's what frightens her the most. At least back home she would know how monsters and devils and humans worked. Here it's just so... random. ]

Was it the Queen? [ ( ... )

[Jackie has threatened the vine several times, but she has a theory that her unwillingness to come out of the house is what attracts it. The Garden is supposed to be all about making them interact with each other, either through obnoxious little peeper plants or through mandatory four day dances. She looks up curiously at the other woman's shuffling, watches the vine get stomped.

Good riddance. Jackie wipes some of the rainwater off her face, it doesn't matter much, more will take its place, but she'd like to able to see for a minute.]

I'm fairly certain that everything that happens here is her fault, one way or another.

[The Queen had brought her here for no apparent reason, after all. The girls with the magic and shit made perfect sense, she could see why a crazy power hungry lady would be interested in keeping them as her pets. But Jackie was just one unhappy, but otherwise normal, person and she really had not needed to be kidnapped nor rained on.]

[Dominique could understand why Jackie had chosen not to come inside the house, but she had needed to enter briefly, to drop off the clay they'd gathered at the wild river, to grab some towels and blankets. She doesn't leave her for long. She sees the rain cloud as more than just an irritating nuisance, really, is concerned about Jackie's health, knows how small she is and how easily she gets cold, how often she gets sick. There is some guilt there, too. The idea of exploring one of the wild places and fetching some of the earth used for creating things had been Dominique's, and yet it was Jackie experiencing the negative effects. Clearly Dominique would just have to share it with her.

She drops the towels and blankets on the step above the one Jackie is sitting on, taking a moment to kick off her boots, too. Then she settles down behind the other woman, pulling her back in against her and wrapping her arms around her.]

[She doesn't fight Dominique as she's pulled backwards. She supposes it was a bit much to hope that she wouldn't fuss. Jackie prefers to wallow in her own misery, and Dominique prefers not to let her.]

You're just going to get wet.

[This is an obligatory complaint that feels compelled to make, but her voice is mostly just quiet and unhappy. Dominique knows exactly what's going to happen.]

[Dominique shifts a little, getting comfortable. It isn't ideal, the entire situation, but Dominique can't get sick and it's rare that Jackie will let her wrap her up like this. She presses a kiss to the side of Jackie's head, the length of her hair already soaked through.]

It's only a little water.

It's a lot of water.

[She objects sullenly, because this isn't fun and Dominique is taking advantage of her in order to leave kisses on her head. It's insidious.]

I'm puddling.

( Well, that looks like fun. Still, Ellie's mouth twists in an odd smirk at Jackie's venom towards the mirror. )

What's got you under the weather?

( Flat, and sounding about as impressed with the joke as... well, as impressed as she imagines Jackie will be, which is pretty far into the negative. ) Sorry.

( She doesn't sound very sorry. )

Hah.

[That one withering note of not-laughter is about as much as Jackie is willing to humor her. She pushes some of her sodden hair back off her face impatiently.]

Unfortunately 'sorry' hasn't magically altered the current state of things, so I suppose, you could, just choke on it.

[Definitely sounding friendly. Except not so much.]

Good mood as usual, then. ( Ellie just shrugs, entirely unmoved. ) Maybe if you stopped being such a moody bitch it'd clear up. That's how this stuff works, right?

( They're such good friends. . . )

If that's really why this thing-- [She bats irritably at the little cloud above her head, but her hand just passes through it with barely a wisp of condensation.] --is here, then it's hardly giving me any impetus for cheer.
