[Melia's sojourn in the fringes had been long, and it showed. Eyes blinked from places where they should not be, antennae tipped with hands waved, and every time she spoke her words came out in colors. But those things she did not care about. She had lugged with her a large bag of magic dirt, the bag itself made from magic dirt.
She stood by the Arena, seeking out a good location. Finally, she found it, situated a small walk away, with plenty of sunlight at all times. And she started working, holding dirt and picturing the form of her home. Bit by bit, the greatest Temple of Zephyr started to appear.
It was a messy chaos from the outside, as if multiple architect had went at it with differing visions, stacking on additions after additions. Which indeed was the case. Cubes, rounded shapes, strange organic waviness, all constructed with colorfully tinted adobe to form a riot of colors. Vines spilled from the many gardening terraces and flowers just as varied in coloration as the building itself sprouted. The structure was so complex it took multiple handfuls of dirt to complete.
Immediately inside, there was a large ceremonial hall with depictions of growing things, festivals, dancers, and bizarre abstract shapes painted onto the walls. Comfortable cushioning covered the ledges lining the walls, but the floor was bare and open to allow for dancing, except for a great table upon which feasts would often be laid. There was no obvious place for the priest officiating the ceremonies to stand.
Behind locked double doors at the back were a smaller ceremonial hall, with wall paintings of a more wild nature, some of them more lewd. Curiously enough, the paintings only featured women, a detail differing from Melia's recollections. Considerably more cushioning could be found here.
Beyond those two rooms, all sensibility in layout was abandoned. Stairs to nowhere, random secret passages and hidden nooks, doors opening at random and even situated higher up the wall, and more. It was truly a monument to Chaos. Everywhere where sunlight would stream through from irregularly placed windows or sudden openings in the walls or ceiling, potted and terraced plants would be placed.
If one braved the maze enough, they could find small bedrooms, clearly for sleeping purposes alone, scattered here and there as well as storerooms and communal areas such as the kitchens.
Her job completed, Melia headed into the Arena to begin her preparations. Once the slow-cooking dishes were set upon braziers, she went to the nearest Vine.]
I feel we could use pleasantries after the recent happenings, and it is tradition to open a new temple with celebration. So I welcome all of you, to the festivities to dedicate the new Temple to Zephyr! Come all, and let us dance and eat and drink together. All may feel welcome here. The festivities will begin within two days and last for three days and nights. You may come and go as you wish, so there is no need to celebrate the whole three days and nights. You need no love or worship for Zephyr, only a love for food and celebration.
[[I'll be putting up a log on the 3rd. Yes, once the chocolates start taking effect. This should be entertaining. And, really, it's very appropriate to a passionate goddess like Zephyr. At any rate, feel free to show up at the festivities with any excuse, including being brought by others or just happening across the bizarre new building.]]
