[It's only shortly later that Chie sees the nearest plant monster get attacked by a girl with a katana and a Persona she might or might not recognize hurling fire at it.]

[Souji moves to keep up the assault until she pauses briefly, stopping to do a flabbergasted double-take at who she just rescued. Good thing the Agidyne spell knocked the flower down.]

[Oh hey that's a plant monster grabbing Souji while she's in the middle of a conversation, carrying her upwards in thorny vines. She'll be busy hacking at it awkwardly with a katana for a bit.]

Oh no you don't! [Chie whirls around and kicks the plant in the stem. It's enough to knock it backwards, but overall it doesn't seem to do a lot of damage.]

Damn! These things are tough!

[Souji goes for the head/flower as she's whipped closer to it, trying to distract the thing. She knows by now she needs to use fire on it, but can't manage to call up Throne again while being jerked through the air.]

[As much as she loves Chie, she'd have been marginally happier to have stumbled upon Yukiko at this particular second.]

[Well, Chie doesn't know that yet, but she did see Souji summon a persona earlier, so she decides to give it a shot. Maybe freezing it won't destroy it, but it should at least slow it down!]
