I'm in a bit of a political mood

I've applied for a few political jobs today, and I learned a few things. According to Trojan and the CDC, 86,920 persons under the age of 25 have a STI. That's in New York alone. And at first I was like "they are probably counting stuff like yeast and urinary tract infections" but no. The things they are counting are stuff like syphilis, HPV, and Chlamydia. They're not even counting crabs (not necessarily an STD but still a huge problem on college campuses). It's kind of ridiculous to even think that it's in New York ALONE. Trojan then traveled to 139 colleges during the NCAA tournament to quiz students on sex IQ including knowledge of STDs and where to get emergency contraception, condoms, etc. University of Minnesota ranked first, with a GPA of 3.91. Louisiana Tech ranked last with a GPA of .82. That's kind of ridiculous. Brown was the lowest-ranked Ivy and Columbia was one of the highest-ranked (if not the highest, I don't remember). That's sick.
And also, healthcare is fucked up. I guess it's me still being pissy about my hospital visit this past Tuesday. It was so annoying, but in all fairness it only took like 5 hours because they admitted me to the pediatric ward. Grrr...American Healthcare sucks.
I am so tired, but at least I get some rest this weekend by going to the NYHS then to the Hamptons.
And I have a huge bruise on my face from roughhousing with Rich. Damn it.

american life, me!, politics, my health
