OMG!! This past weekend I had the pleasure of enjoying Florida Largest Anime Convention, METROCON!!!! It was SOOOO much fun! First of all, the ride down was awesome because me and my two friends made cds of are favorite 50 songs from each person (her mom who drove was also include in the music selection), so we were jammin the whole way down, which was on Thrusaday morning. And as we pull into the hotel, Summer Time by NewS was playing. It was such perfect timing!!!
After we got all our stuff in the room, we went down to pick up my friends tickets, they had pre-ordered theirs, but I had to buy mine the next day. But as we were standing inline, there were so many people already dressed in their cosplay. Ness from Super Smash Bros., Sora from KH, and SOOO many others.I was in heaven!!! That night we went to this Korean Resturaunt and sang kareoke, it was so much fun. I sang GOLD by KATTUN and tried to sing Koi no ABO, but failed and only sung half of it before turning it off, lol. We also sung Girls by SE7EN, which was hilarious when we got to lil Kim's part, which was pretty much us mumbling and saying a couple word we knew in between, lol.
The next day, Metrocon began, I waited in line with Russia and Polsnd behind me and some "I'm ready for the Rave" girl in front of me. Russia talked me me for a minute, he was all like "Hello Comrade! How are you today, Comrade?" and Poland keep telling him to act normal and eventually just gave up on him. I found out his real name was Paul Sweet (cute!)! And when I finally got my ticket/badage thing, I left it on the table and Russia found it for me. "Can't forget this Comrade!" Should have got a picture of him!!
Now the first thing we did when we got to the convention was take pictures! I'll have to show them to you later though, my friend had to use my camera card, so she has all of them. Then, we went to this Kpop panel called "Seoul'd Out" It was cute, we playing Cham Cham Cham (thinks that's how it's spelled, lol) and watched some new music videos, like Luceifer by SHINee and one of SE7EN's new songs. they have a singing contest too, but only one person entered, so she won the Super Junior poster. Then we went to this Girls Guide to Con going, which was cute and informative!
After that we went to the Dealers room to shop. My friends like Kpop alot more than I do, so they found some place that sold a bunch of Kpop stuff and they freaked out there, then we all went searching for a Jpop one for me, but SADLY THERE WASN"T ONE!!!! All we found was a guy selling a few KATTUN posters & uchiwas and ALOT of Arashi posters, banners, cards( like pokeman card size) and some HUGE Uchiwas. I was going to get a KATTUN Uchiwa, but they were SO HUGE and expensive, bigger then my face!!!! So I was pretty depressed about that. The only NewS merch I found was some stickers that were super small and they cost $6! I could get cooler stuff online at home. So I saved my money so I could come back and buy a BUNCH of NewS and KATTUN stuff!! After that we went to the Artist Alley and I bought some stickers, so it would look like I hadn't bought anything the whole time (the stickers were really cheap though, lol).
Later that night we went to the Fantasty Masquerade, were they put on a cool show and then and little breaks in between scence were we could dance around in our mask. The music was fail, but the show was pretty good, other than the mics not working at times so you could hear what they were saying. Then we went back and changed to go to Club Metro, which was alot like the a Rave party, but painful because me and my friends decided to dress sexy ing our dresses and high heels. My feet were killing me, so we left early and went to the pool. That ended the first day of MetroCon.
So on saturday we sorta slept in till about 10, then got some breakfast and head back into Metro. We went back to the dealers room for awhile, where I went back to the guys stand think I would just buy a Kattun poster then go. But sad to say they where all sold out!! So I just bought a Prince of Tennis pencil case and went to the kpop stand and bought a BEAST phone charm. Then we headed to Cafe Pignon, where we got to see a little show and "play" with the maid, but alot of people left when the found out they head to pay to play, lol. We stayed and played and got some treats for winning different games. Cafe Pignon was fun and the maid were adorable( the little show was cute too)!! Then we went to see "Whose line is it Anime?". Which turned out not to be too funny, until this older guy got on stage, who was a little special, but he was funnier than all the other people combined!! So we left that early and went to change into our Rave outfits and came back to see "Ana's Ikimaru Kabuki Theator Hour", which WASN'T an actual Kabuki show like we thought it was, so we left that early to go see stand in line for the" Korean Pop Music Showcase", which was AWESOME! They showed people how to do parts of the dances and they they showed people performing Nobody, Genie, Ring Ding Dong, and Chu~!. It was really cool and informative too!!!
After that we waited in the LONG line for the Blackout Rave and we party there for awhile and we watched other people dance really cool, like Kakashi from "Naruto" and Jake from "Jake and Dexter" dance in the awesome circle ( that's what I call the dance circle, lol). Then left that and went to the pool again. And that is where my so called friends left me for some cute asian guy, WAIT, he was cute KOREAN ALL THE WAY guy! I had to ride the elevator up all by myself in my bikini!! When the dorr open and I saw them there I hope out the elevator about to scream at them!! Them tried to calm me down and tell the stupid story, which I didn't give a crap and that ended the second day of MetroCon.
On the third day was the BEST because of the Anime Human Chess match! It was so awesome!!! The theme for MetroCon was Samarai vs. Ninja, so they had Naruto charaters and Samurai Champloo and Gurren Lagoon and Mortal Combat and all kinds of anime characters, cause the people where on random at one point. Like Kaleido Star and Soul Eater and....IT WAS SO COOL! The had fights and dances and it was super hilarious and awesome!!! I can't explain it in words, you have to see it to understand!! Then after the AMAZING chess match my friends went to get Scott McNeil's autograph, the cast of Inu-yasha was there giving autographs, but I just went walking around the dealers room again and got a cute Rilakkuma hair ties. Then once they were done get autographs I saw this cute Echizen from "Prince of Tennis" and I HAD to get a picture of him and with him. He was too cute!!! We took some more pictures then we left, MetroCon was offically over! We rode on the trolley and walked around downtwn Tamapa, where it was FRICKIN BLAZIN HOT, then we ate a Hooter's and headed back to the hotel and of course went to the pool yet again. That night we didn't sleep till real late and stayed up and watch the DVD me and my friend had bought and some of the funny videos I had on my computer (Like Shonen Club and Hey!Hey!Hey! episodes).
And we rode back Monday morning and I got home and went to sleep till today. If anyone else went to MetroCon, I'd love to hear your stories too! Sorry I typed so much, I had alot to say, now OFF TO BUY NEWS AND KATTUN MERCH!!!
