Surgery Day
Today's the day Dennis is having complex heart and leg surgery.
No word yet.

I'm not very good at this.
2:24 pm Edit: He's been out of surgery since 1:45, the staff has had trouble keeping his blood-pressure constant, which also happened when he was brought in right after his heart attack. Or whatever it was. Staff was busy with him and they asked Mom to call back later.
5:25 pm Edit: sometime soon Dennis will wake up and they'll take him off the ventilator. Thank goodness that when Terri was being operated on they were too damn busy to keep us updated, this is a little bit like torture.
7:31 pm Edit: no word and we're done calling for the night.
8 am 1/21/2012 The staff had Dennis call Mom last night at 10 pm and he called again from his cell this morning. He had a triple-bypass but he's not sure what they did to his legs. One is wrapped up in bandages and the other is in a surgery stocking. Mom, Terri, Jim, and Dennis' eldest are going to visit today.
12:04 1/21 Triple by-pass. No new pig valve or mechanicals, they just put a band around the existing valve. That will certainly make healing easier. No stints in the legs. He'll probably be home midweek.
I will now practice my bitch-slapping for my new "ya gotta stop smoking" program. FYI.
