Well, hello there, LJ!

It's been awhile. I've decided to start this up again as I've been cast in the title role in Theatreworks' fall tour of Charlotte's Web! I'm really excited, as this is my first professional job and the first time I've ever been paid to act (not counting my friend's dad's chamber opera). I'm also petrified, but I'll get over it.

Because reading the blogs of former Theatreworks actors has been very helpful to me in getting an idea of what touring is like, I've decided to keep my own in the hopes that one day some young actor who's just been cast will be perhaps less terrified than I am :)

For the past couple of days I've been reading the Equity TYA handbook to familiarize myself with the rules and regulations involved in this contract. I want to be aware of what overtime/penalties I'm entitled to, and in case of any unfair treatment (which I'm not anticipating and definitely hoping not to encounter!) I'll be prepared with the proper information.

In a little while I leave the office to sign my first contract (!!!) and get measured for my costume! I just looked up a picture and apparently I will look like a glittery drag queen with a black hood, which actually thrills me. I won't have to worry about doing my hair!!

On the to-do list: Get a backpack that fits my new laptop.
