You have a much stronger will than I do lol. I sub sometimes for preschool classrooms and that's about my speed. It's usually way more organized, but that's probably because the kids are like 3-5 years old and too much confusion would make them cry.
Also, what did you do with a bunch of middle school kids who were presumably troublemakers if they were in your class?

Tutor is a fancy word for School Disciplinarian. That is so weird. In no way does tutor=discipline...Was it some kind of fancy prep school?

Oh man, elementary is really, really tough for me. Unless the teacher leaves exquisitely detailed notes I'm fucked. They are so tiny and they cry so easy and they have so much structure but if I don't know to do the thing they go pinging off the deep end.

These dudes had already been chewed out by their teacher (I'm assuming) and there were always few enough of them in the class that I just made them sit far apart (desks were already facing the wall) and not talk. I didn't even have to do much to make them not talk. *HANDS*

Nooooope. In the trifecta of schools where I live, this one is what we (AFFECTIONATELY) call Valley Trash. (one time a politician called all of us valley trash and we kind of adopted it, true story.)

"That's probably for the best." has me laughing at my desk.
My mother used to substitute. She loved the teachers who had detailed lesson plans and she could just smoothly continue their work.
I guess they're the minority.

Can you bring in age appropriate work sheets so the kids will have something to do if there's no instructions or work left? Grammar and math. Every kid needs more grammar and math. (why yes, I am a Mom.)

Good luck!

Yeah, they really really are in the minority. But usually the notes are at least TYPED.

Dude, if I was subbing there for the same guy I would...nope, not even think about it. Because a) they've been kind of shitty to me as a school and b) it's not my job to do anything but what's written down in the notes. :D

I met the guy I subbed for today--he ducked his head in to snap at me that I was supposed to be on lunch duty (which is the dumbest fucking thing, watching kids eat) even though the teacher I was subbing for today didn't mention it in his notes.

So about what I said, IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII was right.

I was unclear, sorry - I thought this for the first couple of lines, then I got it. It just amused me, so I shared... but yeah ...
