I'm going to avoid talking about some stuff so I will instead talk about some AMAZING FICS i've read recently!

Walk a While With Me by ladyjanelly: Jensen/Cougar (The Losers), read the warnings! This author handled the subject matter with such care and attention, I don't even know what to say. IT COULD BE DARK AND REALLY WHUMPY BUT IT ISN'T. IT'S FABULOUS. GO

Talking with my lovely beta about what-ifs for this fic, there are so many places the boys could have fallen off the right road, especially Cougar if he hadn't gone into the military.

Not a problem at all! I thoroughly enjoyed every word of your fic, and you had me guessing until the very end which path they were going to take--theoretically some strings could have been pulled to bring Jensen into the task force, but I love that you had them choose to be together in a way that meant they wouldn't have to constantly be on their guard about their relationship alkdfld JUST YAY EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS FIC :DD

I really didn't know how it was going to shake out until about 2/3 of the way through. But Cougar couldn't stay there when his heart wasn't in it, and Jake really couldn't go back to the military. Even if Cougar trusted the losers, he was just too damaged to put his life in the hands of another unit.

I just posted an expansion of one of the scenes in the fic, and I've got 4 other timestamps written, just waiting to see if there's enough left to tell to make a sequel.

Not gonna lie, I would read the hell out of 18k of domestic soldier-boy schmoop. But if you need some angst thrown in, maybe some tension to do with Cougar's issues with being gay? Or more specifically, Jensen reacting to the realization that Cougs still thinks what they do is kinda shameful, and Cougs not getting it because that's just how it is, Bible says so, his shame isn't going to stop him being with/loving Jake so what's the big deal? OR WHATEVER, HONESTLY, I WOULD READ 18K OF THEM HAVING A TEA PARTY.

Here were the topics I'd wanted to cover. the ones with the + have been started at least. Lots of Cougar dealing with his sexuality, Jake dealing with exposure (because he's at peace with who he is, but doesn't always feel safe with people knowing). There's tension, but not really a climax, not unless I can blow something up at the bachelor party or find a different bang.

Does Jake's niece still do soccer in your 'verse? I would love the hell out of a moment of GO PETUNIAS, especially seeing Cougar's face react to Jake's bright pink shirt. (You don't have to, of course!)

I have no doubt you'll find your bang--all either one of them needs to do is dig their heels in about something + a miscommunikay and these two will throw off sparks bright enough to start a wildfire. (One of the things I loved about your fic was that there was so much potential for everything to go wrong at once, and instead you took it one thing at a time, in manageable amounts, and they instinctively knew they could count on each other. Maybe throw a wrench into that certainty? Or have someone else try, just to mix it up a bit?)

She will. She's younger in this one (probably set a few years before the movie). But yes, Cougar will get his cotton candy in the stands. :)

Eee, I cannot do miscommunication drama in fic. It always always ends up abandoned. Even writing the kinds of guys who don't talk, I cannot make that a focus of a conflict. I feel like maybe that's a failing as a writer, but it's really not what makes me happy to write. I can totally see how another writer could make that work and be awesome though.

I don't think that's a failure! I think it's a thing a lot of writers fall back on to create drama (me included). Write whatever makes you happy! With the tension you're dealing with (exposure/dealing with sexuality) something could go down that exposes Jake and forces Cougar to step up!

Bisou! OMG I was reading on Tumblr an interview with Chris Evans where he was planning to take that puppy who got hit by a car home, and was surprised that JDM got to him first. I want fic where Chris comes to visit Bandit and he and Jeff have lots of sexy sex.

LOL I would read the hell out of that fic! Especially if there was some sort of nod toward JDM mixing up Jake Jensen and Jensen Ackles (it HAS TO HAVE HAPPENED AT LEAST ONCE IN RL). XD
