So we're reading the Lais in Medieval Lit, and I always perk up when King Arthur gets mentioned. This is the gist of one of the lais, pretty much Arthurian legend fanfic of the middle ages. I just really really hope it doesn't turn into an episode of Merlin.

That was quite possibly the most entertaining thing I have read today. Which leads me to believe the following:

1) I should have taken Medieval Lit in uni, but since Merlin had yet to be aired (and I was still mostly unlearned in de slash) it would probably have been wasted on me

and 2) If you taught a Medieval Lit course, I would totally take it. I would pass that motherfucker on the goddamn CURVE, bitches.

LOLOLOL Except if I was teaching a Medieval Lit course it would all be Merlin fic and Historical AUs. And the occasional Lais because I swear to god she was smoking some good weed. There's another one about a werewolf who becomes pet dog to the king because his wife was unfaithful, and then one day he sees his wife and BITES THE NOSE OFF HER FACE and is presto-chango-ed back into a man. And the King showers him with kisses. Not even making that up, I might use it for a fic. Hee hee hee hee.

There is Biblical fanfiction the way you're thinking, but I was being totally highbrow and insinuating that every interpretation of the bible (i.e. the Book of Matthew etc) is, in essence, fiction based on other peoples' fiction, aka fanfic.

(Also I'm watching a lot of QI so everything is terribly British and important)
