Ahahahahaha. My gawd.

Yeah, these two are real trailers (though not for a network channel - it's definitely for cable, which has a bit more leeway with these things), all right. Um. And I have to say the subtitles are rather BLATANTLY more suggestive than strictly necessary, but who's counting?

The last tagline in the first trailer? Watch the story of two men unfold. 'Nuff said.

(And yeah, gay definitely sells in Japan and Korea right now, so they're just catering to the crowd, is all. ::cough::)

......WATCH THE STORY OF TWO MEN UNFOLD.

YOU JUST. LAKSDJALSDLASAJD. SDJLKKSJ? AJEWUEWUFJSDKLNC.

*CLINGS* IT'S TRUE. IT IS A STORY OF TWO MEN. AND THEY ARE ~UNFOLDING.~

Well, there're always tons of unfolding going on. That's a fact. ::cough::

Also, there's some seriously judicious, uh, editing and interpretation going on with these trailers. I mean, in the second one, when Sherlock is all, "John, I consider myself married to my work, etc," the subtitle is stating, "...appreciate your interest; the relationship with you, however - " and THEN it cuts to John's, "It's all right," which the subtitle says, "It's fine."

Slight differences, I know, and they're technically not WRONG, per se, but I swear these subtitles do come off a little more slanted. ON PURPOSE.

...AND I'm not sure why I'm translating the translation. Things that the fandom makes me do. ::headpalm::

Ilu too much to actually stand it right now. I was secretly a good 85% convinced that the subtitles were "AHAHA YOU WISH." *GLOMPS*

Ohhhhhhh I am on board with misleading translations in this case. Misleading editing. Misleading song choice. And I would PAY, GOOD MONEY, to see the thousands of Koreans' faces going o_O when Sarah shows up. OR HELL, EARLIER, WHEN JOHN FAIL FLIRTS WITH ANTHEA.

Korean1: *poke* I thought they were gay for each other.

Korean2: *munches popcorn* Shhhh, I'm sure he'll come around.

HEEEEE! I mean, technically it's not THAT misleading. They just chose to go with a few more, uh, interesting choices of words, let's just say. 'Cause their love is right on the screen, mostly unedited. ::nods to self::

Korean1: *poke* I thought they were gay for each other.
Korean2: *munches popcorn* Shhhh, I'm sure he'll come around.Korean3: *grabs a keyboard* And if not, I know what I'll be doing tonight ( ... )
