May 11, 2010 10:23

Yesterday i went up to the bookstore and bought Angels in America (*winces at the price* they didn't have it in the library) and then i came home and read the whole thing straight through, in one sitting. It didn't actually take that long, compared to some of the fannish epics i have worked my way through. And i REALLY REALLY ENJOYED IT! Yes there ( Read more... )

i'm sorry what is this fuckwittery?, random! random! random!, do i really need a real life tag?, supernatural, castiel: shutthefuckuppiest in the garri

I don't NOT LIKE Cas, but i'm an equal opportunity Win!Brothers girl. And i definitely don't think Sam needs/loves Dean less than Dean needs/loves Sam! That might have been true around the Stanford era, but even then i don't buy it entirely--just look at Mystery Spot! The only thing Sam had to keep him going was the faintest hope that he might be able to kill the Trickster and get Dean back, and even then he barely functioned. If Ruby hadn't been around to manipulate his anguish and grief i don't think Dean would have found Sam alive after Cas dragged him out.

I wouldn't call Cas Dean's. I think some part Cas wants to belong in their family, but if Sam went off the map Dean would've been hell bent for leather looking for him, and when Cas disappeared Dean was just "Eh, he'll show up eventually." Cas isn't what you'd call emotionally available enough to WANT want Dean the way Dean needs to be wanted (by Sam).

Um. /ramble

I love Cas, it's just, he's not a Winchester. IDK.

LOL NO WAY, i am not that clever! It's by Tony Kushner and it won a bunch of awards--there's even a miniseries done on it which i can't vouch for because i haven't seen it, but i've heard it's just as good! Really, really interesting and it makes you think thinky thoughts as well as make your inner fangirl squee at all teh gaye. ;DD

You know, when the miniseries won all the Emmys, I rented this and just couldn't get into it. I bet I would now.

I don't even remember half of this, but I know that I love Patrick Wilson &hearts &hearts &hearts &hearts

Oh that is one lovely hot mess of a book. I'm very tempted to read it now!

YOU SHOULD! It is a hot mess, and it's intellectually stimulating but ~discretely~ so you don't know you're learning stuff until it's LEARNED. Which is my kind of required reading. :D

Now you've made me ship Castiel/RayK. XD He'd take Cas for rides in the goat and teach him about awesome rock music and dancing and boxing and they could both totally out-bitch each other.

HE COULD BE CAS'S DEAN, YOU MEAN! :D :D :D Except for the dancing. Well, the canon is still out on that one. (I'm still really leaning towards the pure WOOBYFACE of RayK when presented with someone who speaks Canadian to Fraser and is just as utterly clueless about the world. XDD)

Ahhhaha you're like fahrbot, she can't deal with Fraser being left out. XD Whereas I'm a RayK whore, so I like Fraser/RayK (my otp) AND RayK/RayV, and the ultimate! R/F/R!
