Be nice to receptionists!

I would just like to say, that everyone should take one extra second to be nice to that person on the other end of the phone. It won't inconvenience you at all, but it's amazing how much of a difference it can make in the day of someone who is used to being treated like a glorified piece of office furniture. If you ask how they are, listen to what they have to say and respond rather than just cutting them off. It's so simple, but you will gain so many brownie points!

Thank you to whoever out there just made my morning, even though I am doing hellishly boring accounting data-entry, simply by being genuinely nice and making me laugh.
