I'm mostly done with this project. There are a few touch ups (some of which were taken care of as soon as I saw the scanned version - I mean, just look at the blob after the Tuum! terrible!) but this is how it turned out, with a quarter for reference purposes.
Since I haven't seriously done well any C&I for about a year, I'm relatively satisfied with how this turned out. Obviously, I did a poor job with keeping the white a consistent texture. he entire design is free handed, so I am being generous with my assessment, since I normally trace things. The capital T's are too plain for the writing style. While the inspiration for this piece is a late Renaissance source, the embellishments look more modern. T Some of the swoops look better than others. A brighter gold would have worked better, but I only have one kind of gold powder. However, one thing I did replicate well was the medieval dislike of blank space. There is a lot of swoop!
Anyways, thoughts? Critisim welcome (taking into consideration that I haven't done this for a year).
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the top is crooked. yes I know. I realized that I had forgotten to straighten the top after I drew the top leaf. I really like that leaf.
