Solitude, blessed solitude

Mom and Dad have gone up to Oklahoma for a few days so Mom can attend her Campfire Girl's reunion, and I have the house to myself. It feels wonderful! Having lived alone so long, one of the issues I've been struggling with has been the relative lack of privacy and constant exposure to other people. Having this kind of alone time is now pure bliss!

The bike ride last weekend was wonderful, if exhausting. I think my ideal long ride right now is probably about 20 miles--that last bit I was really having to draw on reserves. Still, I suppose having to draw on those reserves is part of the point.

Had a date last night (and the world didn't end, will wonders never cease). His name is Jimmy, and he's an LVN my sister met b/c he cares for one of her students (she teaches developmentally disabled and emotionally disabled kids in a local public middle school). At any rate, he's interesting, and we had a lovely dinner (sushi! I had sushi on date night LPAJ!), and I think we'll see each other again.

Monday night, I attended a community meeting w/ my Mom to get information about the proposed Salado Creek Parkway, but that experience truly deserves its own very special post w/ an emphasis on the idiocy of the average suburbanite homeowner (at least down here).

That's all for the quick catch-up. Hopefully more later...
