Oh god, you guys, I am so exhausted from work. Running a bookshop is harder than working in a clothes shop, but somehow WAY less tiring. It's because I am on my feet running around ALL DAY now, whereas before I had heaps of paperwork to do out in the office all the time. Whatever, though, at least I have work, and I'm learning about fashion retail and all the ways it differs to what I'd been doing for the last six years (which are many). I'm also learning a lot about the psychology of women in the change room - I have thoughts on this to share, eventually. Being on the other side of that particular equation is really eye-opening.
Work work work. It's all I've been thinking about. I've been at the new job for like a week and a bit now, and I need to cleanse my brain of it all, I really do. Lucky I have some time off over the Easter break (huzzah!) to indulge in fandom and, um, play many hours of The Sims Medieval. Many, many hours.
Also, I can't believe you guys never told me about the wonders of Community. It is the best. Show. EVER. I love it with every little ounce of my heart. It's smart and funny and silly and full of pop culture references and it has really awesome actors, and Joel McHale as Jeff is super fucking hot, and so is Alison Brie (Annie) and I want really dirty, porny fic about them having kinky sex that emphasises the age and size difference (because I have learned to embrace my het kinks, okay. Deal with it). ALSO, I obviously love Troy/Abed, because they are painfully in love (even in cannon! [sort of]) and they are best friends and they're so cute I can't stand it. This is the most happy-making thing that has happened to me in AGES.
Okay, gotta go! Football is on in a minute, and we haven't won a game yet this season (two losses and a draw, gah) so I am going all out with the superstitious bullshit - St Kilda socks, signed jersey, beanie, mug, keyring...etc etc. We can't lose.
I love you guys! For the next week I have no excuses for not being around! Beat me if you have to!
