ok, a moment of gushing, just real brief...has anyone heard the new hoots and hellmouth? home in a boxcar? i normally dont lose it over no-name bands like this cuz i always feel really pretentious, but seriously, i think theyre one of my favorites right now. you may , or more likely not , remember them from Kaye Kelly's basement during serendipty. i figured, due to their near anominity, my climbing blood-alcohol content that night, and my mortification that my " africa as a monolithic culture" joke went over likea fucking lead chickadee, that i would never hear anything by them again, but whitney sent to them fir hte album, which she subsequently burned onto my computer and had become a massive influence on my short story collection this summer...

1) i have officially the sketchiest job in history. im not allowed to say where my boss is, his DAUGHTER doesnt know where he is, im supposed to tell folks that one of hte co-owners just works there, and they never even break even ....also, due to the fact that he always has me wash so damn many of them, im guessing that muhammed just didnt have time to learn to wash dishes when he was learning the five damn languages he speaks. bastard.
2) a guy in building 45 stopped me yesterday and told me that my bike's seat needed to be raised. i thanked him, he offered to fix it, i deflected. he assured me it would only take ten mins or so so i let him. i commented on how much my bike sucks ( she just needs some love, poor brunhilde) and he offered to raise my handlebars, fix my brakes and get it out of first gear. i was like " sweet"! but then he was all " do you have a boyfriend?" damn it to hell. i laughed, said i didnt have time for one, and when he asked where i lived waved in a vauge direction.
" real specific." he laughed.
" sorry, pal,i was a girl scout."
