Author's Note: Well, I tried to make something that wasn't slash or porn, and this is the result. I've always appreciated Jack's character throughout Seasons 1 and 2, even though they did little to expand on the deeper side of his emotions, I believe it leaves his character open for interpretations. Jack is my favorite character to write about because of this. This is a fic mostly told from his point of view, through all his experiences from child to adult. It breaks from my traditional writing style of porn and slash, so bear with me. This kind of writing is completely new to me but I already have the future chapters planned, so I will make haste in finishing this little project.
....I blame my menstrual cycle and Marcus Schulz's new album for making me ANGST! 8D

A mouse squeaked, and although Jack could not see it, he felt it run across his foot. He cringed. He was sick of being disgusted, and for what reason did he suffer? To what ultimate purpose did his agony serve? Yusei had always told him to endure what is, to accept the reality of who and where he was and make the best of every moment by finding the meaning in little nothings. But how could anyone make the best of this?
The whole city was falling apart and it was as though he was crumbling along with it. Day by day, the light across the water seemed to get dimmer and dimmer.
“I cannot stay.” He let his head fall into his hands. “I cannot stay...”
But that is when he came
