Yeah, I have no problem with it really. I'm not invested in it at all. Give it a few eps. It could really suck, or it could only suck a little bit. I doubt it'll be actually fairly decent. But I'm not really fussed either way, lol. I don't think it will be like the original, and that may not be a bad thing cos in all honesty, the US and the UK are really very different places. To have a carbon-copy of a UK teen drama set in the US just wouldn't make sense. I think it may actually be worse to keep it so strictly "authentic" to the original Skins. I think I'm most skeptical of that translation of rough teenage life in a place like Bristol vs rough teen life in Baltimore. Two very different places, with very different issues.
So I guess, TL;DR As long as it's not just a recasting of Series 1 set in a different city, it may actually be fine, as long as it accepts that it cannot be the UK version. Life just is different over here. It'll suck completely and undoubtedly if they just remake UK Skins.
