Deadpool; School Preparations; Art!
Ah, August. This is the month that school really starts. I'm almost ready. Almost.
For most of this and last month, I've been reading all Deadpool titles like a MANIAC. I've read all sixty-nine of the original Deadpool, fifteen of Agent X, and then thirty of Cable & Deadpool. That's a lot of Deadpool, and I've loved every minute of it. I hope a movie gets made, because he deserves it.
Concerning the original Deadpool series, Joe Kelly starts it off right but then it gets passed to this guy named Christopher Priest. Oh GOD, I *HATE* Christopher Priest and want to murder him in his sleep. He just totally flatlined Deadpool from about issue thirty to the later fifties and made it drab, boring, and "OMG DRAMA!!". After him, there was a guy called Palmiotti that started righting the wrongs of the writing, and after Palmiotti came AWESOME GOD DAMN GAIL SIMONE. Simone brought back the Joe Kelly-ness and I loves her <3.
As for Cable & Deadpool (I'm skipping Agent X), it's written by yet another person (some Portuguese chick?) but it's good on its own. It's like Palmiotti good, but not yet Kelly or Simone good. I'm starting to like Cable, but I'm yet to get over his martyr/saint complex. He's sounding like a 1990s "SAVE THE PLANET!" kind of idiot, and, by god, I hate those types. Damn Captain Planet and his hippy shit! DAMN HIM! It's a good thing that DP is there to foil him =3.
I also happened to read The Watchmen after a hearty recommendation from aandwrootb33r. It's like reading a classic novel, like, uh, Crime and Punishment: There are layers and LAYERS of things addressed in the book, so you can't really GET it in one sitting. I'm still half confused after reading it, and I've been told to read it again! WHAAAAAAAAAAT? No way! Not for a long time, dudes. That book is MEATY and I'm gonna wait a bit before I attack it again, thanks.
I've got school ahead of me now and I've already got a few things done. I've got my hair cut, got some school items, and I've done Phil's album art. Now I just need to tackle the rest of it. I have a lot of art presents and art commissions to do as well, so... I'm art-overloaded. It's going to be a while before everyone gets everything, oy vey. I hope you guys will be patient with me.
