(no subject)
Aaaaand I'm back! I'm alive, and awake, which considering the amount of allergies this year is quite an accomplishment. *sniffle*
(Just FYI, I've never even seen "Master and Commander." I'm only using this icon because (1) it's got a violin in it and (2) it's got a Captain Jack in it, even if it's not the right Captain Jack. *shrug*)
So this past weekend, Mum and I went back up to Wisconsin and Illinois to pick up stuffs from home and then for me to play at this post-wedding reception for a pair of newlyweds, one of whom happens to be the son of the man who built my violin. O_o On top of that, they invited the man who owns one of the biggest stringed instrument shops in Chicago, William Harris Lee. Uh. Hello, Inderal, be my friend please?
Actually, with the help of a good hearty dose of Inderal and lots of practicing beforehand, I didn't mess up. Not once. Yay for not screwing up like I've been doing for the past year every time I perform! *jazzhands* Mr. Lee even promised to keep an eye out for a bow for me, so double yay for that!
And then Mum made me drive 130mi back to Bloomington on Monday night, most of it IN THE DARK. (Of course, my very first drive was through a flash flood and through a bank teller line, so you know. Relativity sucks.) Highlights include nearly hitting a doe on I-39 (WTF my mum drives through a state park every morning and we NEVER get a deer) and Mum having to yank the steering wheel out of my hands when I tried to make a 90-degree wrong turn into a parking lot. At the time, my only thought was that it would be supremely embarrassing to have "died on her way to Chipotle" listed in my obituary. :P
Then I got home and found that I somehow made it to the final three of ass_ldws. OMG LOLWHUT. *dances* remuslives23 should've been in my place, honestly, but I'm going to cling to whatever miracles I can get at this point. :D
Also, "Sherlock Holmes" THE AWESOME ONE has arrived from Netflix. For God's sake, the weekend couldn't come any faster, could it.
