I spent several hours digging though my junk room today, it's almost cleaned out. A bit is going to goodwill, but even more just got tossed in the trash. I did find another farscape fic, which seems to be a rambling, relatively uninteresting mess, but hey, I wrote it in high school, when I myself was a rambling, uninteresting mess...
I also found some interesting do-dads. Turns out I kept every scrap of paper that mentioned x-files, Farscape or Leonardo Dicaprio.
Observe:
For those of you who don't remember, this is an advertisement that scifi magazine ran before the second season of Farscape started. ELEVEN YEARS AGO. God, I'm soooo old! But you know you're in love with a show when you keep an advertisment for over a decade. But I thought the tagline was clever, and remember, Zhaan has kicked more ass than you've sat on. Oh, now I'm sad, I miss my show...
Anyhow, the real jem of the day is this:
yes, that is a 'scene' feature on leonardo dicaprio, circa 1998. (And that's me, for those of you who don't know...don't look at that part...). I was completely obsessed with this guy for like 5 years, then he completely dropped off my fangirl radar...after man in the iron mask, I didn't see a movie of his again until 'shutter island'. Didn't care for it. But I just realized what eclipsed him completely: FARSCAPE!!! (see above).
I also found a bunch of scifi magazines from as far back as 2000. I have always been a collosal dorkus, but I just didn't have proof until then. anyhow, off to half-price books they go. I'll be interested to see what I can get for them, they're in amazing condition.
the really sad thing is, I'm still not done with the room! And my mom announced that we'd be closing 'in 30 days or so'. I was thinking I'd be moving, like, next week. *Dies*.
But I'll comfort myself with the fact that Fringe returns in less then 20 minutes.
For now I'll leave you with an honest to goodness quote from 13 year old me's diary. It was about a dream I had.
I was reading in a magazine that said David Duchovny was leaving x-files to do monster movies. Then I watched one."
